Shark attacks diver and enters cage

This is so ridiculous. Shorten the distance between the bars, this is dangerous for both diver and shark; when they get stuck like this, they usually end up dying because they rip their gills struggling to get out. It’s irritating because it’s could be so easily avoidable if they just moved the bars closer together.

Sadly the shark died before the diver lost a limb.
I have ZERO respect for people who antagonise sharks, it is animal abuse.

This shark wasn't trying to attack the diver. It was swimming very fast going after the bait and ran into the cage. It became stuck and died from suffocating. This is the divers' view.
Look it up. Guadalupe Island 2019 shark gets stuck, suffocate died, and sinks to the bottom of the ocean. That video gives a different perspective and was filmed by someone in the other cage.

The shark wasn’t ‘attacking’ the diver, it got stuck and was freaking out. Sharks can’t swim backwards, and it was swimming at a high speed towards the bait, tried to turn left when the bait was pulled away, and instead ran into the cameraman’s cage and got lodged in the badly designed bars. It wanted nothing to do with the diver, it wanted to get tf out of there. Poor thing was bleeding bad from the gills - imagine having metal scraping through your lungs bad enough to make them bleed! I feel bad for big guy ❤

And this is the reason you cannot go diving with white sharks at Guadalupe anymore. This poor animal died and instead of banning the bad tour operators who continuously broke the rules, the Mexican government shut down the preserve to all tourists
