I think finishing strong is tough for a lot of people. I feel like most of us already have one foot out the door and are counting down the days. You’re right though, power through and finish strong 💪🏼

After 8 long and painful years, I've decided to resign from my current position. I've been offered the same position somewhere else with almost double the pay, better benefits + perks. I feel like I can breathe now.

I loved how she is so professional about the whole thing until 1:14 that "peace out" really made my day

The way I quit was royal. Sending a text message.

It's definitely telling how a person resigns from their job, though a lot of people are awful when faced with confrontation of any kind.

I’ve been that team player and dedicated employee. Now after 33 years of putting up with managements crap I’m walking in and dropping my I’d badge on the bosses desk and walking out. I’ve long ago cleaned out all my personal property. Best part. I don’t give a damn what they think

Giving a notice is definitely necessary out of simple respect! These are great tips to quit professionally and on a positive note. Cheers!

This is a great video! I think the way people react to certain situations and the professionalism they use in times like these says a lot about them.

Do NOT do a exit interview. They WILL hold it against you and if the company really cared, they would have at least TRIED to put things right in the first place

Darn, no one told me anything about being nice to boss and my colleagues, I was too focused on delivering my work that I never got to mingle and socialized with any of them. After a decade, I'm struggling to find a good reference for my next job. I didn't that it's going to be this important to never burn the bridge. I learned my lesson a bit late, even if I'm a great employee delivering tasks that were expected of me, I wasnt' the nicest when it comes to being a people pleaser... sigh...

Btw Trisha, just want to let you know you looked like the mom of my favorite actress Elisha Cuthbert. It's like identical.

I will not ”quit” but im on my 6month trial period, I got offered a permanent position there and I actually signed it thinking I could handle it, it starts in september but I will have to tell them no. The way my boss is acting at that department is just horrible. She is on vacation now so I will have to send her an email. The awkward part will be when she comes back and all the other employees go on vacation and it will just be me, her and another girl for 3 weeks 😬 I still have 2 months left at this company and I am frantically looking for a new job so I can give my 2 week notice 🙃

Do you think how a person resigns from a job is a reflection of their leadership?

If work place is toxic run out as fast as you can.

At my current job, some co-workers were contracted (I am direct hire) yet do not get to finish out their resignation as they state it.
This has happened to a few people who have left over the past few weeks. I find it difficult to accept your advice.

I’m 16 and I want to work at catering before I move... I don’t have but till May. I’m terrified to quit though.

I am in a situation where I do have a job line up and it starts mid next month and where I work the notice period is 1 week. Sounds a lot easier to quit the job right, well not exactly the company salary payment cycle is 1 month and they paid mid of the month about 14th each month, for 2 weeks in arrears and 2 weeks in advance, when I quit I give 1 week notice period a day after I get paid (from a moral value point of view I feel guilty as I felt like too calculative quit the day I get my monthly paid).

However, I will write in my resignation letter that I will work until the end of the month since I have been paid. The hardest part is because my mindset is already not with this company so subconsciously I would work a lot slower than usual and I know that not as professional as it seems, another issue is I already had performance coaching and my boss already told me the area I need to improve on. I really don't know what I should do in this situation to feel a lot less stressed, anyone who can provide me with some sort of suggestion would be much appreciated.

There are still approximately 2 weeks after I resign I need to serve after I resign (1 week is notice period and 4 working days extra to cover for them paying me a whole month) and I will not feel like working as I felt extremely stressed for the reason I don't really know, anyone has an idea to help me out would be great thank you.

The company I work for is know to terminate employees when they give two week notice. What’s a good way to deal with them when I give notice?

I’ve recently been offered a better paying job in the salon industry and I have been close with the owners of the salon I work at now . This is making it very hard to resign, although I know in my heart I have to leave in order to better support my family. How do I drop the news on them that I am going to work in a different local salon?? Without burning my bridges??
