FILM DESCRIPTION:
Troy Maxson (Denzel Washington) makes his living as a sanitation worker in 1950s Pittsburgh. Maxson once dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player, but was deemed too old when the major leagues began admitting black athletes. Bitter over his missed opportunity, Troy creates further tension in his family when he squashes his son's (Jovan Adepo) chance to meet a college football recruiter.

After all that he had the nerve to ask her to help him take his child? She is one strong compassionate woman...he knew she wasn’t going to say “no.” Where else would the baby go? Just like he knew she wasn’t going to leave all those years he disrespected her. He is selfish...he demonstrated that in the kind of husband he was as well as in the kind of father he was to his son. However, it’s on her too for choosing to stay with him in that toxic marriage for all those years...she really shouldn’t expect anything more or less from him. This is what he has given her throughout their marriage.
