What is coercive control?

Coercive control is a pattern of behaviour aimed at dominating or controlling the victim-survivor which, when considered in the context of the relationship, is abusive, threatening, coercive or causes fear.
To find out more about the legal avenues you may be able to take if you or someone you know is experiencing coercive control, call the Women's Legal Service Queensland Helpline on 1800 957 957, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm.
The WLSQ Helpline is staffed by specially trained women who can book you to chat with one of our lawyers or help refer you to the best service to support you.
