I am studying in China and the lectures and exam are given in Chinese. Some of my friends decided to give in and cheat on exam day but I said to myself I won't cheat. I failed my Linear Algebra exam 3 times and passed it the 4th time after watching your videos. You are a great teacher, Sir. I am so grateful to find your channel. THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIR..

I spent an entire year thinking these linear systems and the d.e's were two completely separate concepts.
I deeply appreciate your videos and consider them as gifts for all who wish to learn more.

In the classroom, I learned the technique for finding the eigenvalues of matrices but barely gave thought to how that connects to other areas of maths. Thank you for discussing such connections in your videos. They're very helpful and intellectually satisfying. 🙂

Leonard Euler, what a man! Almost 300 years later, very few of us, even in academic society, comes close in either knowledge or skills. Our professor here for sure is one of those few.
Euler lived and worked, as you all might know, most of his time in St.Petersburg, Empire of Russia and Berlin, Preussia.
Excellent introduction to "eigenstuff"! Right to the point how they are useful at once!

Thank you so much; I really appreciate your effort.
With you, I'm really learning and enjoying mathematics.

I've skipped several math classes because some professors do not have the skills you have, which are simplifying concepts.

Thank you again.
Anyone reading this comment, please give this person at least a like and subscription. He really, really deserves it.

I like that here you speak briefly about the founding scientist as well

I find the first method to be a lot easier, but I appreciate that you demonstrated a connection with linear algebra. Thank you

Eigenvalues were very important in aero triangulation solving a large matrix of variables to get the standard deviation and disturb to solve for camera and control point "corrections".

Hi professor, I have resumed watching your videos. I find these concepts essential for control theory. Could you please consider uploading a video series on control theory?

Michel. I truly appreciate your courses. I would like you to train me on the full math for Machine Learning . The text book you would use is Mathematics for Machine Learning by Marc Peter Deisenroth, A Aldo Faisal and Cheng Soon Ong. Package a good course and throw python code examples and charge for the course. People are willing to pay well for a good course. Imperial college London has done a similar course and you could probably build on what they did not cover.
You don’t have to be cheap. Charge well for the course. deliver quality.
Thank you Sir

The roots of the characteristic equations of the differential equations are the eigenvalues

Sir Michael van biezen, know I finish calculus III. I am an engineer student. My question is, which course should I take first linear Algebra or ODE. Also, I need to take both of them.

Sometimes the voice is completly gone. That's kind of scaring. But thanks for the video. Literally amazing.

one doubt: why did we take the equation |A-LI|=0 (let L be the eigenvalues). where did this equation come from
