A bunch of you asked so here we go!

How long your scarf is depends on the yardage in your skein (of course you could add in another skein of yarn, but I was just trying to minimize the number of ends to weave in). With shorter skeins of yarn, I casted on 12 stitches, with longer I did 14.

You will just repeat this step to make the entire scarf:
1. Slip 1 purl wise, *knit 1, purl 1* repeat section inside * until you have 1 stitch left, knit 1
If you did cast on an odd number of rows your pattern repeats will be:
1. Slip 1 purl wise, *knit 1, purl 1* repeat section inside * until the end of the row
2. Slip 1 knitwise, *purl 1, knit 1* repeat section inside * until the end of the row

Once you run out of yarn (or you reach your desired scarf length), cast off in ribbing pattern and weave in all ends :)

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Yarn: Malabrigo Rasta in Turquoise

I’ve also used Cascarde Yarns Magnum for this scarf, which has a bit more yardage to each skein so you can make a longer scarf

I am still new to knit, and have always done long tail cast on. What is the difference with the cast on that you do in this vid and a long tail? Is it stretchy? or does it make the bottom edge look cleaner?

As a real beginner, I wished you would show more close up what you are doing and go slower. I will give it try and see. Thanks!
