I used to listen to my Best friends Albums in the 70's & 80's. He passed away, and I inherited his Albums, 0ver 300 from the 60's-80's (the best music). I have some of his ashes in a shadow box with pictures of us, and when I listen to the records it feels like he's here with me. RIP Tim Jackson.

My friend keeps telling me I shouldn't have spent so much money on my Audio Technica and just have gotten a Crosley Cruiser like her because the sound quality is "exactly the same". This is the same friend who constantly complains about how her records skip... Wonder why.

Your #1 is hilarious!
_A whole new way to interact with your music_
Not everyone on Youtube was born in the 1990's you know :D

LPs were also meant to be played in their entirety, starting on Side A and ending on Side B, thereby creating a timeline with an audio landscape that progressed and delivered the experience that the artist meant you to have.

I believe my first record was The Grand Illusion by Styx. I agree with you that vinyl isn't for background noise, it's for relaxing and listening intently to.

So so right, vinyl always was, and still is the king music format, my collection is growing fast

You're the reason I bought the AT-LP-120, I still had my old 80s Pioneer turntable. I bought the turntable because of your top 10 modern turntables, so I used your affiliate link. Thank you!

Totally agree, When you find an artist with great pressings and a lovely analogue sound, you can't beat it. Also the art is bolder and better.

I totally agree. Im living in asia and there are a lot of local albums that sounds great in vinyl than digital media. keep it up Jarred, more videos!

True vinyl lover since 2009 (although I knew them before thanks to my grandparents). My first vinyl was my mum's copy of SGT Pepper, and my first purchase was Rubber Soul, back in 2009. I am proud to be considered as one of the starters of this revolution!! Bring it on mates

You're totally right dude, i don't remember my first mp3 i downloaded but i sure remember the first song i converted to mp3 more than 20 years ago, and it took the computer almost 9 hours to fix the job, an extended song for about 8 minutes. I admit that a recordplayer which i do have too is the only way to actually feel the music. And you know what, since i subscribed to your channel i actually use my recordplayer more often. Oh those love it.

So true with #5. Being 47 years old at my job we had to answer what was our favorite album and eveyone 30 an under couldn't give an answer. They dont get how certain groups or singers art and album sound and be such a distinc experience between their othe albums.

Your best yet! Well thought out and simply comprehensive. You do a lot to promote vinyl as an experience, what's next, ?
Maybe you could show us your whole routine from choosing, handling, cleaning record & stylus, turning over, cleaning record and stylus, resleeving, and returning to a properly stored collection.

Crate Digging! Yes to Crate Digging. Digging for 12" LPs is one thing, but, but, but Crate Digging for 7" 45RPM singles is the greatest digging experience for any vinyl collector.

I grew up with CDs, just as digital music was becoming more common. My mum kept some of her records from her childhood, but got rid of most as we didn’t have a record player. However, last Christmas I got a record player, and I have started building a collection.
The first record I ever played was Todd Rundgren’s “Initiation”. The first tune I ever played on Spotify was Beethoven’s 5th. The first tune I ever played on Apple Music was Todd Rundgren’s “Hodja”. The first CD I ever listened to? Before I can remember.
I love records and CDs and iTunes and play them all frequently.

Great video! Thanks a lot for this. It's started me thinking... maybe it's about time I got back into vinyl, remembering how much I loved about it in the 70s and 80s.

I've been thinking about record players recently because that's what I grew up with. That said, you are the man, and I appreciate you bringing the vinyl back to the kids.

I don't exactly get the crate diggin', ...I mean, I liked "crate digging" with CDs in second hand shops, but I always digged through the genres I liked most. Even with my new record player, I can't see myself buying a techno record, just by...the artwork?

my first record i bought was the strokes is this it and funny story when i tried buying it i didn't have enough but a guy that was at the counter payed for the rest and that was the nicest thing to happen to me, and ever since that day I bought so many records and still am.
