I find the Scorcher to be a perfect match with the Arc Thrower. They both function better in 3rd person view, and cover each others weaknesses. The Arc thrower has limited range. The Scorcher cannot crowd control. Interestingly, Arc thrower functions more like a primary and Scorcher as a support.

great breakdown! got to slightly disagree on not using heavy armor tho, they work extremely well with the flamethrower and i never had issues kiting titans with it. if anything i want them on me and close-ish to bait out their attacks and drop a 500 on them, if its on cooldown i can bait and position them for my quasar buddies, their melee attacks really arent that hard to dodge. my fav build currently is heavy medic armor, incendiary nades, flamethrower, rover, 500, one flexible slot, with the role of being an anchor for the squad. when theres a breach you can just sit back and deal with it solo while the team goes on to start with an objective without issues, then theres a bunch of patrols coming in you can shot them once and draw them away from objectives.

the amount of pressure you can survive with that armor is absolutely insane, and with the recent heavy armor buff you can take two hits from a charger, and while leaping and shooting the flamethrower (using those extended stims in between) you can survive being completely encircled and getting constantly hit by commanders/warriors/hunters, doesnt even matter if you set yourself on fire because you hit the ground once per second, most fun i ever had playing this game. just pray its not a bile spewer mission or you will have a bad time with this build because you cant see when they start spewing through the flames and the TTK on them is pretty meh. only other drawback is you take a bit longer crossing long stretches of the map.

Thanks for the tips. I bought the game and spent 4 days fighting nothing but clankers. Bugs were giving me a hard time because of how fast you become surrounded. Rover and napalm strike help alot.

I still like using the Arc Thrower as I always will be using it about 85% of the time, and to make up for getting swarmed, I just whip out the MP-98 Knight SMG for those Hunters which sprays them with ease. Just make sure to max out your speed and have a personal shield generator if you plan on trying this, I love it and I usually get 0 deaths at the end of each mission even on max difficulty. Oh, and the 500kg for Titans, and the Gas Strike for bug breaches is perfect.

Arc Blitzer is slept on as a pairing with Guard Rover. With good positioning you absolutely cream any breaches

The auto cannon was a lot more effective on the Auto-front, due to the amount of long ranged, heavier armored dreadnoughts that they spammed in Helldive missions. With its great range and amazing fire rate, it was the best choice for taking out large groups of dreadnoughts and even bruisers.

However, the bug don’t launch armored units with extreme range, but instead charge you and get you at point blank, taking the range advantage out of the question.

I just started playing this game 2 days ago and I love the ce-74 Breaker Armor.

I have a similar build with the exception that my primary weapon is the Arc-Blizer. This thing has a shorter range than the Arc thrower and the firing time is roughly also 1 sec with very similar stagger. With the guard dog taking out most of the small bugs, this gun can stagger kill all the medium armor guys with ease. Best thing is this weapon can deal with the bile spitters as a primary weapon with unlimited ammo. Then you got the Quasar to take out the heavies. I can often hold the line with just these tools without using the eagle or orbitals.

I'm saving my Super Credits to get the new warbond just to get the new Light Engineering armor. It looks sick. I agree, the Breaker armor looks super derpy.

Only issue i have with your recommendations are that with q cannon, fire grenades, napalm strike and railcannon strike you severely limit your ability to clear objectives. Yes the q cannon can clear, but with a 10 second cooldown, you are extremely dependent only your team to clear bug holes.

Defender SSS+ tier for me.
Only thing that can replace it for me is sickle but I dont have the super credits to unlock the bond.
Quasar is WAY too slow for me the EAT is still the better choice, anything armored bam EAT that. Plus other mates can pick them up if necessary

Does the quasar or the incind grenades close bug holes? Because with that setup you have no way to close a heavy bug nest without using stratagems

With this load, how do you deal with the medium-armored bugs? I have been seeing a lot of these in recent missions. The Syckle won't penetrate, not sure if the Senator is enough, and the Queso cannon is too slow if you encounter more than 1 or 2. I guess if you bypass bug holes and just do the missions your chances of encountering multiple mediums are lessened.
