Note: apparently fire damage on the charger and bile titan doesn’t do any damage and is just visual according to some of you in the comments. The fire from the lasers still do more damage to everything else though which is still a huge upgrade.

be ready for that laser guard dog to get nerfed too, it being able to constantly keep firing is a bug and in the known issues list

cant wait for the devs to hit us with the "laser weapons are used in 40% of gaming sessions, overshadowing the other stratagems and weapons, so we're nerfing laser weapons" next update

Sickle isn't a laser weapon, it's an assault rifle dressed like a laser weapon. It literaly deals balistic damage.

Plasma weapons should set things on fire too, i mean its literally firing superheated ionized gas, of course its gonna burn, and a lot. And the PLAS-1 is called the Scorcher

Due to us creating a meta. All laser weapons will have no mags, they will overheat faster, they won't set enemies on fire, their damage has been cut by 50%, and they will explode and instantly kill you if they overheat.

I sure they did a silent buff to the charger. They feel way more agile. Like their turning circle is reduced while charging.

The only way they will truly win back players is to buff every single weapon in the game or most of them and drop the illuminate

Well, not sure if this will be seen but;
It seems to me that, much like the first game, there's a difference between the two types of laser weapons. Beam, like the Scythe and Rover, can set enemies on fire. While Pulse, like the Sickle, still has to find something more... unique for its subtype.

In the first game, Pulse lasers did a bit more damage than Beam lasers. However Beam lasers could pierce some heavy-ish medium armor, whereas Pulse lasers and bullets would just bounce off. So, it looks like they're going a different route to make them different now.

Due to how good laser weapons are they now overheat 99.9% faster which should bring them in line with all the other weapons everyone’s forgot about.

The saving grace would be to bring the "vehicles" that were rumored a while ago. We still see them burnt to a crisp all over the map

In Helldivers 1, Flamethrowers not only go through enemies, they light up the ground and create a wall that enemies actually try to avoid, letting them be used as area denial. Arrowhead has lost their integrity.

Nah, 50 more dps due to fire damage is not enough to make lasers the meta. Also in before AH nerfs it due to unintended fire or realism excuse.

They also adjusted the sounds on the eruptor primary weapon (if nobody could tell) the reload and shooting sounds are different (from what I can tell)

Honestly this just seems to reinforce that idea that Arrowhead Studio really doesn't fully understand what they are doing. While any buff is considered 'good' that it was (probably) accidental is .... concerning. If it was intentional, then it is just further proof of Arrowhead's inability or unwillingness to probably communicate changes (like hiding the flame thrower nerf in the misc patches).

Arrowhead gave us a nice steak to enjoy. But, when we chose the sharpest steak knife to cut it with, they got mad, and took it away. So we used the next sharpest one, and they took that away too. And so on, until all we're left with is a butter knife, because they don't want us eating the steak too fast. Whenever we get an actual buff like this, it feels like an accident. Like the waiter accidentally dropped one of the sharp knives under the table, so we have to quietly pick it up before they notice, and pretend we don't have it. Otherwise they'll just take it away again.

That's why the entire reaction to this hasn't been "Oh sweet, lasers are good now!" like it should be, but instead "I can't wait to see this get removed next patch..." Arrowhead has proven they will take away anything even remotely popular. So it feels like even though lasers are fun and useful now, we can't actually use them. Because their unspoken rule is clearly: If too many people have fun, no one gets to have fun.

So we have to Choose: Do we stay, and keep awkwardly sawing at the steak with a butter knife, hoping the waiter might drop one of the good knives again? Or do we simply leave, and go to the nice burger place next door that lets you eat your burger however you want? I know I've been much happier with DRG burgers lately, because they actually let me have a flamethrower that works like a flamethrower AND a laser cannon that lights things on fire! And beer!
