Bro just casually mentions that he made 3d models for the aerospace industry💀💀💀

don't hear the people saying the mix of 2d + 3d is bad, cause is absolutely amazing, keep on this track pls

There's a jank to the first person bow draw animation that honestly feels like it'd be iconic. Like... I have no idea how to properly phrase it, but I feel VERY positively about that bow draw animation.

I actually love the 2D/3D aesthetic, looks really unique. Would you consider adding some sort of melee and grappling onto enemies? Also adding 8 angles for animations instead of 4 would look way better imo, even if it would be a lot of work.

It would be awesome to see you add a diagonal run animation too, in order to make the rotations during movement feel a little less choppy. I'm not sure how it would play off in practice, but you could maybe take the horizontal run animations and skew it to match what it might look like for forward-left and forward-right run animations.

Holy shit. Good movement, good mechanics, great visuals, and female protagonist? I'm all over it.

Looks awesome, love the shadow of the colossus vibes, and I've always loved the aesthetic of 2d sprits on a 3d plane
One thing I'd say though is, you should really consider drawing a custom set of sprites for turning right, instead of just mirroring the turning left sprite sheet. This is cause she appears to be right handed but when turning right she all of a sudden becomes left handed (at least she starts holding the bow in her left hand)

I understand you need the enemies to be 3D for mechanical reasons, but they still should follow the art direction of the player and NPCs. right now they feel disconnected being PBR high poly models, like store assets.

maybe it would be better to focus on a low poly pixel art texture style to keep them in line with the unique art direction and better use its potential since its one of the main appeals of the game. they should fit in with the other characters, not the terrain

Clicked this video on an off-chance, after not seeing that many interesting game projects for a while - and the opening alone was astonishing. I genuinely don't think I've seen a better teaser for the gameplay than that before. Already, I feel hyped for what's to come. Combining 2D with 3D is such an interesting premise that isn't done enough, with some tweaking of the 3D aesthetic to match the 2D better, I feel like it could be the perfect blend.

Epic stuff man, for a first devlog this already looks phenomenal!

I really love the 2d character. You should hold onto that to give your title some character. Definitely would pixelate the world though. I also think the 3d enemies really clash with the design and feel unfinished as a result. An idea I had was making the enemies look like a corrupted video in the sense that they have erratic movement, glitches in their design and shape, and so on

She looks a lot like a Marvel Loki, and I absolutely love it!
Gameplay and game style both look so good!
