I absolutely love the Six Swans fairy tale. Still haven't found a better retelling than Juliet Marillier's Daughter of the Forest, but I like that someone did a version with Cranes. Cranes are cool.

Oh my heart with Know My Name 🥺 And I watched that interview she did with Trevor Noah too- loved it! And one of the last things she said always stuck in my mind, it was something like "If there are guys like that (the Swedish guys) in the world, why do we lower our expectations?" Ugh she has such a way with words and it shows in that book- so glad it was a great read for you

i read 52 books this month :> a close family member of mine died and i began reading more than usual as to escape a bit from the overwhelming grief, so good for my goodreads challenge i guess

omg! six crimson cranes sounds like a retelling of Hans Kristian Andersens Wild svans! Its about a girl that is trying to break her 11 brothers spells that turn them to svans at daytime. She needs to make them sweaters out of stinging nettles, and is not allowed to speak before the job is done, or her brothers will die! I must add that to my TBR now! There is also a brother Grim tale that has 6 swans and is a lot darker that basically follows the same storyline!

I plan to read The Ninth Rain this month. I loved She Who Became the Sun. It was my favorite read of July

I'm so curious about For the Wolf- the cover looks so vibrant and pretty in your video (compared to the flat images I've seen of the cover online)! I'm also hoping I'll end up enjoying The Faithful and Fallen more than you did since I'm going to give Malice a shot this month.

Added the Winnowing Flame trilogy to my wishlist! Can’t wait to get to them sometime! The Wolf of Oren-Yaro also sounds great! Love your videos ❤️

Surprisingly, one of my faves books in July was Ash Princess. I thought I was going to hate it but I love the female characters and how they start to grow up. Hopefully the rest of the series is good.

I’m anxious to read Valor this month. I enjoyed Malice in July, 4 stars, but I didn’t love it. So I hope I enjoy it, you’re right so many people say that the books keep getting better and better. We’ll see lol. I’m gonna either be reading Ninth Rain in August or the beginning of September. Very excited to try that one!

Six Crimson Cranes has such a beautiful cover, and a pretty interesting premise. Also, poor Faithful and the Fallen fans 😭

That's a shame you didn't enjoy The Faithful and the fallen. :( For the wolf sounds so intriguing- I may have to get it on my kindle. I'm so pleased you enjoyed Wildcard.
I'm hoping to get to Six Crimson cranes soon.
The Pariah sounds like it will be a great read.

I felt the same way as Elle about Malice. I wasn't sure about the series initially. But Gywnne's writing definitely gets better and the three other books are action packed. In fact, there are almost too many battle scenes! I enjoyed it enough to continue to "Of Blood and Bone, " his next Banished Lands series, and I've been enjoying that more so far. Better character development in the first book and the plot develops more quickly.

Aw I’m so sad you didn’t like Faithful and the Fallen! I’m halfway through book 2 now and absolutely loving it. I think it’s gonna be one of my all time favorites. I really want to try the Ninth Rain since I’ve heard you talk about it so much, it sounds great! I can never find it in the stores though. I’ll have to go on Amazon.
