He actually DID sing for more than 50 years and never lost that power. Sadly, DIO passed away on 2010.

Great reaction. I Highly recommend listening to the song "Mistreated" from the 1977 Munich concert. Dio's singing is beyond good, but Ritchie's solo is the type of solo you would a mixture of soft notes and melodic sound and then back to the main riff....so good.

The glorious voice of Ronnie James Dio...a voice that will never be repeated in the history of hard rock... 🤘🖤🤘

He had no vocal classical training, but he had been offered a scholarship to Julliard for his trumpet playing. He also grew up listening to Mario Lanza and had a lifelong appreciation of Bach. So he was familiar with classical music and opera.

One of the truly great vocalists in all of music history. He's known as a singer but most forget he was a musician first and exceptional one at that (he actually turned down a scholarship from the Juilliard School of Music) and it was his ability to communicate with the likes of Blackmore and lommi musically that made him such a force and is a big reason he's the common denominator in 3 of the genres greatest albums of all time in Rainbow's Rising, Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell & Dio's Holy Diver. That's quite an achievement if you think about it... co-wrote 3 of the greatest hard rock/heavy metal albums of all time in a 7 year stretch with 3 different bands.

The only thing he doesn't have at the moment is a spot in the rock n roll hall of fame. I know he could've probably cared less but his fans care and he belongs in there.

An argument can easily be made, that Ronnie is not only the greatest vocalist the genre has ever seen or ever will but also the most influential artist the genre has ever seen. From his vocals, his lyrical style, from progressive metal to power metal, from the way he works the on stage to the way he deals with the press and from his work on the Hear 'n' Aid PROJECT to his devotion to his fan base.

There isnt a singer in the rock and the metal world that Ronnie hasn't influenced and all in a positive way.

He shouldn't just be in the hall of fame they should rename a heavy metal wing after him. That's how important he was to the genre.

The only thing bigger than his voice was his heart. He was truly a great man who just happened to make music and sing very very well.

The world will never
see another one like him.

Never a voice lesson in his life. But, he played trumpet from age 5 until 15, awesome breath support!

Discovered @ age 39 5 years ago listening passively @ work, when the wizard falls, I had to stop working, and just listen. It deserved my full attention.

The undisputed god of hard rock. Got to see him once in the 80s after he went solo, a memory for life. A great personality as well.

Ronnie is one of only two singers to give me goose bumps every time i hear them.

He sang with passion and left it all on stage. I forgot how much power and emotion a live "un-autotuned" show could be!

You picked a masterpiece. This is one of the greatest bands of all time. Ritchie Blackmore is one of the greatest guitarists on earth. Dio is God in Italian. Cozy Powell top 4 drummers in the world. Enjoy pure music with power, class, and musicians second to none. The words are epic. Good choice

Dio did this even when he was dying of cancer in 2009. He was a true front man of music! METAL

This is one of the greatest rock songs there will ever be imo. I get where you are coming from with the theatrical sound here. When you listen you can see what's happening as the story unfolds. Every bit of this song is intentionally written to tell this story. Even as I hear the guitar solo I picture the tower finished and the wizard climbs up jumps off to fly and crashes to the ground. This band in this time is a talent I don't think we will ever see again in rock. The thought and attention to detail in this song as a whole is unsurpassed. Good reaction. This is my first time seeing your channel and your awareness of the the many nuances in this song shows me you know what your talking about. Thank you!
