I've seen Dio once. One time only. I remember being told I could only have one thing signed after the show. RJD signed the setlist I got that was taped to a speaker and after he did it I thanked him for coming and held out my hand for him to shake it. He looked at my hand then me and, I swear this, he said, "Friends don't shake hands, they hug." And he gave me a hug! Don't care about anything after, just that RJD gave me a freaking hug and he is the man!

Put it this way, there’s never been a bad album with Dio in it.

I think I speak for all of us when I say we would all love to see a reaction video to any iced earth song with Matt Barlow on vocals. With you being an opera singer I think you’d appreciate Barlows range.

For years his voice fascinated me and reached my soul. Glad I am not the only one! So jazzed to see a professional recognize and explain what I always knew. I miss him.

I discovered Dio with that song. Still makes me cry once in a while. He and Bruce Dickinson are legends

I was very fortunate to see Dio live many times in the large arenas and small venues. Saw him play the whole Magica album in Denver followed by a few other must have hits. Last time I saw him was with Heaven and Hell at Red Rocks on The Devil You Know tour before he died.

Dio is such a kind human being. I remember when I saw him at Cal Expo in Sacramento on the Sacred Heart Tour. He had an autograph signing in a record store that day. What's funny is that I was actually the last in line waiting for an autograph and I distinctively remember Dio saying, "You may be the last in line, but you are the first in my book". I'll never forget those

"I simply cannot get enough of Ronnie James Dio's voice."

Neither can we, miss. Neither can we. Dio is a legend.

RIP RJD! As my wife refers to him, "the little man with the great big voice'. She's not wrong. He was only around 5'3" tall, but that voice... oh, that voice.

When Ronnie cuts loose, i swear, the power of his voice could pound a nail into a board. No hammer necessary. 🙂

Man I wish Dio were around to see the pure unadulterated adulation and joy his performances still generate. It's beautiful to see even as a fan

Excellent choice. Personally can't wait for Elizabeth to react to anthems like Children of the Sea (Live '83), Mistreated (Live in Munich), Falling off the Edge of the World, Sign of the Southern Cross... Dio was a noble, romantic soul from a different musical dimension.

It's good to hear Dio getting the props he deserves. His lyricism was always uplifting and powerful, in opposition to so much dark and cynical metal music. One of a kind.

Simply the greatest metal voice of all-time! Sadly missed.

What makes Dio one of the greatest singers is his inflections. You can listen to the same song from 10 different live performances of his and they all have some subtle differences somewhere in the song. Yes, many singers can do this but in my opinion, none do it as well as he did. I have had the honor of seeing him live many times and he has never disappointed me. Give Children of the Sea a spin. It's such an amazing song. This is when he was with Black Sabbath.
