Tai Chi is a mind-body exercise that originated in China over 500 years ago as a martial art, yet has many health and well-being benefits. In this presentation, Ruth Taylor-Piliae, PhD, RN, FAHA, FAAN
associate professor at the University of Arizona College of Nursing, will discuss what Tai Chi is, what some of the benefits of practicing Tai Chi are, and how it is similar to or different from other mind-body exercises. Some practical Tai Chi tips will be provided, such as how to find a Tai Chi teacher. Finally, a taste of Tai Chi (experiential learning) will be offered.
