How I Make a Webtoon Using Procreate

Oh the irony that I finally got around to making this video and no longer primarily use Procreate for making a Webtoon... but if Procreate is all you have (it's all I had for the longest time!) then I wanted to show you that it's still possible!

Supplies
12.9" iPad Pro (2015)
Apple Pencil (2015)
Procreate

For those who need it!
The sketch size for panels in this video is
7200x6000
- divided into 5 columns that are 800 pixels wide (8 boxes wide with drawing guide on). This will make you about 49 panels.
Actual drawing size
- 1600x12000
This is doubled to leave breathing room for mistakes.

This is extremely helpful! I’m making a WEBTOON and I didn’t want to mess up before I even started! Thank you very much.

If you want the bubbles in Procreate to be perfect circles, hold down once you have drawn the circle! Gives me perfect bubbles for dialogue :)

Clipping mask saved my life😭 I understand the pain of filling in layers without the paint bucket tool.. so that tip you gave about the different thresholds for filling in color is really helpful!! Hopefully my webtoon turns out good!!

This is the only tutorial I’ve ever come across with clear instructions. From explaining each dimension to explaining how you fill in flat colors is all I’ve ever wanted. I actually feel like I can start a comic now I’m really excited!

This is literally the best tutorial I think I’ve ever seen in my life. Thank you so much for simplifying all of this. I’m currently working on an Avatar fan comic called Kenai: A Requiem of Chaos and it’s taking a lot longer than expected to draw despite having the story set and worked on for the past 9 years!

This is exemplary! I have a REAL terror to do Webtoons - er HAD- but you just HELPED me feel SO confident and ready to tackle the whole thing! I will definitely be subbing, watching, and following. You are so wonderful for this. Simple explanation followed by simple proof. I love it!

For a while I hesitated making a webtoon because I thought you needed a program like Clip Studio to get the job done. I didin't know it was possible on Procreate. Thank you, this video really helped!

I’ve never read or created a web toon but I occasionally get ads for them and they are so cool and creative! It’s super cool to see your process 💛

This was SO helpful!! I’m making a comic for my favorite dnd character’s background- but I’ve been having so much trouble figuring out how to piece it all together. For the first chapter- the one I’m currently working on- I don’t really use panels- it all sort of flows together. Your idea of making that big starting canvas is such a smart way of doing it!!
