For anyone who’s interested in making a webtoon here some more tips:

Design any place your characters are going to be in a lot room class ext. - This improves consistency
Design some extras, AKA people who just show up in the backs of panels but aren’t important. -This saves time
Make character turn arounds BEFORE you start - They are so helpful

Try Campfire for you world building notes and MagicPoser for 3D models.
Good luck! 👍🏻

Most of the most popular shows of all time are about absolutely nothing, it’s people going to school or living a normal life. Having a good story can definitely be a big draw in, but you don’t need to be the next Brandon Sanderson to write a successful webcomic

You just have to be a god at making characters.

And I know you have 50 OCs in your closet. Use them. But for the love of god, simplify them. You have to draw them 1.000.000 times, don’t make them so fucking detailed. Like look at Persephone in LO. She’s just the shade of pink and some curvy lines. That’s god tier character design

As a webcomic series creator that haven't finished my first chapter for almost 4 months, this video really helps because I am starting to feel unmotivated because I work very slow and my mistake is adding too much details on the sketch.

You know, when she mentioned "I have lots of imaginary scenarios", it reminded me how I started writing. I would try to think up "Alright, how will I justify this happening?" and write down where I got. Than what I wrote created more questions in need of answering, until I got to the point where I essentially made a world, justifying a cool random scenario I was daydreaming about that one time.
Maybe not the most efficient way to create a story and it's world, but it's certainly really fun, and worked for me!

Kooleen-sensei...has taught me so much in 5 months. (more than in an artist school)
I wasted 3 years of my life in an artist school. x'D
I go crying in a corner.
Crying but be HAPPY!♥

I'm one of those people that has the back stories of all the characters but not the story itself lol imagine knowing your character so well you could write their own side stories but you actually don't know the main story itself lmao 😂😂😂

When you realise that Sukuna and Artem share the same Japanese voice actor. No wonder Kooleen loves them both so much! XD

6:53 I see a lot of webtoons use this trick. I always make sure to pay keen attention lol

I'd also recommend tht, alongside making character turnarounds (as someone else in the comments) you should draw characters you can actually manage to draw. I'm saying this for myself also. The simpable zaddy is lovely and all but it's so sad when u can't draw him consistently T_T

A helpful story writing tip I've gotten before is: pick 4 of your favorite stories from books/movie/anime/webtoon, etc. and use the interesting plots of each in your story. Once you have an over arching storyline, you can add subplots that relate to the themes of the main conflict. See below for an example on how to employ this method.

Ex. Pride and Prejudice (enemies to lovers), The Incredibles (superhero family), SpyxFamily (secret identities), and Spiderman Into the Spiderverse (taking responsibility for mistakes and the consequences of one's decisions)

I will use Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy as the character names for the following story premise/concept:

Elizabeth, adoptive daughter of a crime family (the Bennett's) is an employee at an event planning firm by day and a mercenary assassin by night. After a botched mission with loss of life (her youngest sister), Elizabeth blames the mission's failure on Mr. Darcy for unknowingly stepping in and saving her target. So, when Elizabeth's next target is Mr. Darcy, she is only too happy to complete her job.

However, when she infiltrates his penthouse to kill him, she realizes that he is not there despite her intel saying he would be home (it turns out that Darcy stays in different homes/locations as a security measure.) As Elizabeth leaves, she finds a file on her civilian persona on Darcy's desk. She withdraws for the night and thinks up of a way to use the information she's gained to get close enough to her target to kill him.

When Elizabeth is called to her employer's office, she is told that Mr. Darcy wishes for her to work as her employer and Mr. Darcy's inter-company liaison. She will be tasked with planning a joint company retreat for both firms. She now has access to Darcy's company and knows that he will be attending the joint retreat. The retreat in two months time will be the perfect opportunity to kill him, any sooner would mean that she may lose her cover identity if his death is investigated.

However, as she plans the event, she is able to get to know Darcy more. She soon struggles with getting to know her target before killing him (it was not an issue before.) Will she complete her mission of killing Darcy, or, fail another mission and start to question her orders?

Subplots: Darcy is slowly falling in love with Elizabeth despite having misgivings about her; Elizabeth's mother wants her to marry Mr. Collins, an assassin from another crime family to expand the Bennett's territory; and, Lydia, Elizabeth's sister that died, isn't actually dead: she had asked Darcy to help her escape her criminal family.
