Seeing how this video is decently old let me update yall on 2 things. First, you don't actually need full moon anymore to get the gear on mirage and second you don't need to be moving to find mirage you can literally just stay still in your boat (you can check on the wiki).

If u wait in a private server the full moon appear after 1h of the server running then u can shut down the server if no mirage spawn to reset it and go back into it
