Nice one, Damo. Great content as always. I went against the accepted wisdom, took advantage of the autumn swell, and sold out of everything to pay-off the house and any remaining debts, and squirrelled away a couple of years of expenditure. I did this because, after last year's rollercoaster, I realised I had no buffer, a mortgage and other debts, and all of my proverbial eggs in one basket. Figured I'd reset, do all the ground work that you and other successful investors recommend, and then begin to buy back in monthly with more disposable income, knowing I could skim a year off my two-year buffer for discount days. So, for me at least, it was eliminate the main risks and other sources of worry likely to cause panic, leaving me free to actually have an investor mindset and just not worry about the ups and downs.
