For some/many people: Low-level astigmatism is common and may not be worth stressing over (or trying to correct). I've had different eye doctors write different prescriptions for either eye (within weeks apart) for my low level astigmatism... and never explained it was "low-level" until I had cataract surgery years later. The new PanOptix multifocal IOL lenses in my eyes actually are NOT designed to correct astigmatism (unless you are off by 1.00 or greater then Toric IOL's are suggested/prescribed)
BTW, pretty sure my "presbyopia" was due to fast progressing cataracts. Vision was impaired at ALL distances which points to cataracts (I never needed glasses for near or far in the past ....and then all distances were blurred. 6+ years of confusion was the result!)
I spent a ton of time trying to figure out what my REAL problem was prior to my initial cataract consult. I had both IOL's done 1 year later.
It pays to ask questions, do your own research and get 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinions.
