Home Astigmatism Test (Astigmatism Dial)

Do you have astigmatism? This test can be done at home from your phone or your computer.

This test is called the Astigmatic Dial. Test each eye without glasses or contacts, by staring in the middle. If you have lines that look blurry or bold, there is chance you might have astigmatism. Make sure to go get an eye exam to get it checked.

When i look long enough in the middle with one eye i can see different colors barely visible between the lines like theyre colored with watercolor. It looks beautiful.

This is a cool way to see the angle your astigmatisms, and that they're different in each eye (for those of us graced with two).

yea it works i have had astigmatism my whole life so its cool to see the diff between my affected eye and normal eye

It's so cool that if I rotate my phone, the bold lines move!

-6.0 CYL w/ 10 AXIS (Both eyes) They are also mildly hypermetropic.

When I take off my glasses the horizontal/equator line is always the boldest even when rotating my phone. There is also an odd effect where the horizontal lines look more spaced apart and distinguishable than the vertical ones. The closer you get to the prime meridian the more fuzzy and crammed together the lines become. I can only describe it as being somewhat similar to the pages of an opened book.

It's interesting to see that the angle of the blurred lines changes for each eye.
