How to Replace a Broken Sump Pump

Did your sump pump die? Just stopped sumping one day? Well save yourself some money because I’m going to show you how to replace it all by yourself!

Yes folks, changing a sump pump is one of the easiest things to do. All you need is the new pump and possibly a reducer bushing to accommodate the size of the discharge port on your new pump. That’s it!

I’ll be replacing my Flotec 1/4 horsepower sump with a Rigid 1/2 horsepower dual pump from the Home Depot.

I went to the basement this morning I heard this humming noise coming from my Sum Pump.
I knew immediately it needed to be replaced.
I first called my plumber I haven't heard from him,
first video I pulled on youtube was yours,
I just wanted to thank you for this easy video and taking the time to make it.
I went to lowes of course I replaced it with Zoeller brand .
Super easy, I usually screw things up not this time .
Working like champ.

Ha, do you remember the Howie Mandel Bobby voice? Nice. I'm going to pick one up tomorrow (a Ridgid) as my old one made it 16 years OEM with the house. When the local plumber quoted me $1300.00 to replace it (??) I said, "not gonna happen, don't call me back." That's why I'm researching. So, thanks. Install a check valve as well to prevent back flow. Very simple addition. Great video!
