When Can the Boat Leave the Harbour?

In this video we show how to answer an interesting question on the oscillations of a sine curve applied to the height of a tide in a harbour. The question comes from Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Pure Maths (Advanced) June 2018 Paper 1 (question 8) and is good maths practice at various aspects of sine wave trigonometry, as well as applying maths to real-world situations.
