Having epilepsy myself I feel for that woman as having a seizure is such a disgusting feeling along with the major confusion when coming to. The kids are awesome they were perfectly calm and gave mom an assist like it was nothing

This made me tear up a little; they worked together and helped her, and went back to eating like it was nothing. There's just something so sweet abt it. What a beautiful family.

Okay so I am a med student and a nurse specialised in Neurology. Quite years in. What she’s having over there is a PSYCHOGENIC SEIZURE, that still is a seizure but not caused by epilepsy. They are caused by any mental illness disorder she might be dealing with, usually this types of seizures are called pseudo seizures but the word pseudo makes it (fake) and this seizure are not fake so the correct diagnosis is Functional Neurological Disorder. The person actually has a seizure, but this seizure is not caused by abnormal electrical brain activity like epileptic seizures. Is a trauma from the past like sexual assault domestic violence, and or mental illness most likely anxiety or a really uncontrollable emotion that instead of reflecting itself as an emotional symptom your brain interprets it as physical symptoms and the person loses control over their body and makes you present with neurological symptoms meaning, uncontrollable jerkings of different parts of the body like hands, legs or a whole body jerking, this movement are not asynchronous like epileptic seizures, that’s how you tell if it is a Psychogenic Seizure and not epileptic. This seizure will only be an emergency if the person falls and hits his head or present any physical injury. Inside the brain of person that as Psychogenic Seizure there is no brain damage like epileptic ones. So, you just have to keep the person from hitting his head, falling and shocking. What you do put the person in one of the sides so you open their airway (since there’s people that can stop breathing) and be with the person try to calm them down. This person can present loss of consciousness themselves as an epileptic one! So the person will not hear you would not respond to stimulus until the seizure ends. Another detail, psychogenic seizures can last more than 5 minutes to hours. Which makes it horrible for the person suffering it. There’s a post ictal phase like in epileptics for some of the patients but not all of them. Some can recover instantly others will not. Doctors and physicians are trying to spread awareness that Psychogenic Seizures are real because there’s evidence to prove it and trying to stop people thinking that the person is faking or trying to get attention. Both epilepsy and this are horrible conditions that are life threatening.

Bless those kids! As a epileptic, myself, I know it can be a nasty situation. Teaching your kids what to do in that situation is very important . My son immediately shows up with a damp cloth and just talks to me until I calm down. 💚

This is so dangerous. Thank God that her kids was home. She could have fallen down and injured herself badly. Kids you are the best 👌

What a great family! The children are amazing, just do what they have to do and then carry on with their own stuff. Mom and Dad, you are great parents. ❤

I spotted it - the daughter was actually correcting the younger brother - he was supposed to be using two hands to get the right pressure, but he was only using one so it wasn't working. That's why sister had to step in and do it after the mom was on the floor and she was able to. I mean, also she's bigger and stronger so it probably worked better. And of course, then brother wanted to squirt mom again after she came to and mom had to say no. Goofy kid :) It's good that he doesn't find it traumatic though.
