A Game of Thrones theory explained, prepare for The Winds of Winter release date with a theory video of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series and something to think about while waiting for HBO's House of the Dragon Season 2.

Tbh I think it was like a magic ritual sacrifice whit her son+drogo+maegi that paid for the 3 dragons...similar to the burning that does Melisandre

Aerion drank wildfire because he thought he was a dragon himself and he wanted to reach his final form. He wasnโ€™t trying to โ€œhatchโ€ a dragon. He thought he was the literal dragon.

I thought it was because 3 lives were given for the dragons. Drogo, Rhaego, and the sorceress.

Everything is in 3s with dany. That was what she learned in the house of the undying. She gave 3 lives and recieved 3 dragons. I assumed the comet came because of her dragons. They brought magic back to the world. In book 2 in kings landing the alchemist basically says to Tyrion how they have been able to make a lot more wildfire than they have in years and that it's far more potent than normal and how odd it is bc that's not been historically possible since dragons exsisted in the realm. Also the undying told dany the comet brought her to them. All this suggested to me the dragons are key to magic flurishing in the world again.

Idk. I always thought that Dany did not burned in Khal Drogo's pyre because of the witch she burned. I always thought it was intentional and it served some sort of catalysts so she would be protected from the fire while the dragons hatch.

Fact: Sozin's commet powers fire bending.

I'm a believer in the theory that she hatched 3 dragon eggs because she sacrificed 3 people on the funeral pyre. Drogo, Rhaego, and Mirri Maz Dur. Sacrificing three people plus herself, she didn't understand at the time but that has to be strong magic.

Another thing to think about is when Mirri Maz Dur is being burnt n the pyre she's singing some song (probably her death song). If her sacrifice does correlate into a dragon then she was the only one of the 3 who died and came back as a white... Foreshadowing or coincidence??

It's still her that birth the dragons. She just needed the right circumstances. Grrm said what she did was "a miracle" that will never happen again. Plus aerion drank wildfire because he thought it would turn him into a dragon, He didn't try to wake dragon eggs. Grrm has also talked about the magic in the series. Over the course of the first book we see dany slowly and gradually learn what she needed to wake dragons from eggs. Another thing you can use to know she was the one who did this, was that grrm contrasted her waking the dragons to the story doreah tells her about the origin of dragons.

The MOON was an egg that wondered too close to the SUN and then it cracked and out poured dragons.

Dany who was called MOON of my life, wondered too close to drogo's pyre (Drogo was known as SUN and stars) That was the circumstance that allowed the birth of the dragons.

Also the comet was used as a sign of the return of dragons. Dany was the one who brought the magic back into the world which is why the warlocks tried to kill her to take that power.

I do remember george saying this was a one time event as Targareans are fire resistant not fire proof like the show thinks. If that was true get every Targarean to be flame bombers in war and you'd never lose.

Im sure like the pyre dany awakened some magic to protect herself while using the lady forgot her name as a sacrifice due to her praying a spell.

Dany discovered in the beginning of the show that she could barely feel heat. Before the comet.

Kinda wrong tbh:
The tragedy at Summerhall did birth a dragon, Rhaegar - "the last dragon"

Aerion Brightflame didn't get himself killed trying to hatch dragons.. He drank f*cking wildfire to try and become one. It is known

Edit: You all pass the vibe check by the way ๐Ÿ˜‚

She did, and GRRM has veen very clear about that. The comet is most likely an omen of some sort.

I would like to point out that Dany hatched the eggs in the final chapter of the first book - A Game of Thrones at which point the red comet had not arrived.

It's a combination of a lot of things that births Daenerys' dragons.

Their birth has been predicted by prophecy for a long time and a lot of Targyreans have destroyed themselves trying to chase that prophecy thinking it applied to them.

A lot of things just happened to finally line up perfectly for her dragons to hatch and signal a new age of magic in the world.

That or bloodmagic. See my theory was blood magic. Drogon was born from Drogo's death as exchange. Her child was another. And her brother. Bloodmagic tied to her as she believes these are the things she sacrifices for her future pretty much. And she also burned the servants with Khal Drogo. So the essence and the magic of sacrifices Dany had given made the dragons stir and hatch.

But the red comet is seen at the end of book 1, as she's burning Drogo lol. Plus she did show resistance to fire and heat before the pyre scene as well. Like someone else said, I think she just had higher than average(for targaryen) magic flowing through her

Wait. That means Haley (from the Modern Family series) was actually right when she said there were spaceships in Game of Thrones.

In the beginning, when their eggs were roasting on the fire when her brother was still alive. She picked them up with her hands And one of her servants saw and rushed to her and screamed khaleesi . The servants hands were burned But hers was not And that's the moment she found out she was the dragon . When her brother tried to cut out her unborn child from her belly Her husband dumped Melted down metal on his head and he died . He wasn't born with the gene of the Dragon . And that was way before her husband died . She always had the power Her brother didn't

Fun fact, the red comet actually appears in the latter part of a Game of Thrones book. For instance, the chapter where the Stark boys in Winterfell are told Edd Stark died, they were in the maesterโ€™s tower looking at the red comet through a telescope.

Coincidentally, prior to maester Luwin receive the letter about Nedโ€™s death, both Bran and Rickon dreamt about seeing their father in the crypts, which is, if my memory serves me, the first time a supernatural event occurs in the novel at that point, as both boys clearly saw th ghost of their father talking to them, it just some weird prophetic dream
