My dead brother liked vanilla ice-cream. Stranger says he likes vanilla ice-cream. I notice a similarity between my brother and the stranger.

Fun fact about how Barristan said Rhaegar liked singing: In season 8, the song that Podrick sings, “Jenny’s Song”, is thought to have been written by Rhaegar himself. In the books, Rhaegar owned a silver harp in the shape of a dragon that he is said to have played often (that’s since gone missing btw, but some people seem to think it’s by Lyanna’s statue in the Winterfell crypts). At the Tourney of Harrenhal (the one where Rhaegar gave Lyanna the crown of blue winter roses and caused a scandal) Rhaegar sang and played his harp for her, and she was said to have been moved to tears. “Jenny’s Song” is about an in-universe character named Jenny of Oldstones who married Prince Duncan Targaryen (the older brother of Rhaegar and Dany’s grandparents) who gave up the throne to wed her, as she was a common girl (though she did claim descent from the Kings of old before The Conquest). Jenny is thought to have died at the Tragedy of Summerhall, which was the sort of “summer home” of House Targaryen. King Aegon V, her father-in-law (aka “Egg” from the Dunk and Egg novellas) is believed to have tried to hatch dragons with wildfire there, but of course it all went disastrously wrong and he, Duncan, and some other Targaryens all died, and perhaps Jenny herself, though we don’t really know exactly WHO died at Summerhall. But there was one person we KNOW was BORN at Summerhall: Rhaegar, who was born outside after the then Princess Rhaella was rescued from the fire. Rhaegar was said to be more of a book-loving guy in his youth, and it was even joked that Rhaella must have swallowed some books and a candle while she was pregnant with him, until one day, Rhaegar found something in his books that changed him, and he immediately went to the castellan and told him he required armor and sword, saying “it seems I must be a warrior”. Fans think what he found in his books was the prophecy of Azor Ahai, and he believed himself to be the Prince Who Was Promised.

I personally thought Jon meant he didn't like LEADING, he didn't choose to be crowned King In/Of The North, but he was because he is a good leader.

Dany: We all enjoy what we are good at
Jon: I don't

one of those simple yet so elegenat quotes from the show

It's funny that they mention Rickon since nobody in the north ever mourned Rickon's death in season 7

This dialogue has a deeper meaning to it :PEOPLE THOUGHT DRAGONS WERE GONE BUT HERE THEY ARE (danny and jon) & the next line says PERHAPS WE HAVE TO EXAMINE WHAT WE THOUGHT (about jons true identity)....this makes much more sense now😍

if anyone would be comparing jon to rhaegar, it would be jorah, not dany. dany never met rhaegar. when dany and jorah were reunited, jorah WAS giving jon a few weird looks a few

He meant leading people, reading the books and actually watching the show shows Jon is always forced into leadership but never chooses it he also often struggles with the choices he makes and they scar him but he is good at it

Jon is a strong man, the man has alot of pressure on his shoulders and he handles it best he can. He has really grown up before our eyes ..great character

Jon is a good leader, a Hero type, but Dany is best as conqueror

They won't fully address until next season. Obviously Jon is special. They have so much in common. The glaring difference is Jon has'nt fully developed as a leader. Dany has been Queen from day one. She has the Royal badass attitude. The arrogance but still affectionate towards her people while Jon is humble, respectful and focused. He listens and makes decisions patiently.

Idk if they've mentioned this or not (I stopped watching in season 4), but Jon's claim to the throne would be superior to Dany's as he is the son of the crown prince.

You see here, in Danerys's pan, that the TV series is really good at giving us the clues we need to know. If a plot is turning in a certain direction, we get plenty of foreshadowing.

That's dubious at best dude. There's no way she would just... notice a resemblance between Jon and Rhaegar like that and out of the blue. Perhaps she'll think about it later on when she revisits this *conversation* she had with him yeah, but I doubt she noticed any resemblance at this point...

This was actually quite clever dialogue up until the end of this clip in relation to this bit of lore genealogy, and similar traits from Rhaegars heredity.
