In this scene in the Dany chapters, she notes that there were various ethnicities of the slaves (Unsullied), majority with the copper skin and almond eyes of the Dothraki and Lazarene, also Qarth, the free cities and including ethnic Ghiscari. Her line was, "They sell even their own kind"

Also… even if D is a white saviour, you can represent something without suggesting it’s a good thing! Clearly in the show Dany’s rule has mixed motives and ends in catastrophe. The whole Targaryen pathology is having a messianic complex.

I’m sorry but tv is a visual medium and that visual is a porcelain white blonde princess lofted above a sea of brown faces. If they didn’t want it to look racial they could have brought in more variety of skin tones.
