I was so stuck in this game and you really helped me! Pleasant voice and way of talking. No enthusiastic screaming or hysterical busy base to use as an example. Very nice, well done!

Crops dont grow because of temperature, it is more than 10-30*C.

You didn't run an automation wire between your smart battery and your coal generator, defeating the purpose of building the smart battery. Without that you'll use up your coal too quick.

I've put about 40 hours into this game just exploring the crazy amount of things before I decided to start watching beginner's videos. Thanks for all the excellent tips, they are really going to help my next colony!

I got this game recently cause it was on sale and without these I would've been beyond screwed. Appreciate the effort, def earned a sub!

research: crusher, level 2 crusher Colony development . Put a coal generator next to a smart battery and deconstruct the old battery and the hamster wheel. Also connect the smart battery to your other thing that require electricity put another ladder to the side. keep digging up and try to avoid gas pocket. if possible make new floor and keep reaserching

When you were hovering over the troublesome farm plots, noticed the sand debris was a higher temperature than the other debris. Combined with it being in the middle of the farm, maybe not enough heat dissipation to cool it? Just guessing though

The thing with the giant reservoir down at the bottom makes it a really good carbon dioxide sink at the beginning. If your diffusers aren't working, it might be because they're trying to squeeze oxygen against carbon dioxide buildup. Might also look at how well grasses can move through your base with plenty of mesh tiles and spaces at the end of your tile rows.

battery and coal generator have to be wired with automation wire otherwise it wont shut off the generator

As I am watching this and following along with it I have noticed the issue, it isn't a bug, that patch 2 floors above that had the large chunk of sand fall is in a hotter environment and has been flowering down because of the negative space and affecting the plant growth. When you were hovering over the plants they said "body temperature" so it peaked my interest so when I clicked on the temperature view i discovered it. Just a heating issue.

The heat issue EVENTUALLY dissipates but by that point the farm tiles already began retaining heat, deleting them and placing new ones down placed 'Room temperature' farm tiles down which is why the issue was fixed.

I really appreciate your channel man. I've played ONI for over 60 hours and although I always have a lot of fun playing it, it's really difficult to keep going late game. I haven't played the game for over 2 years, and felt like following tutorials for tips on how to better build my base. Your videos are a blessing. Your content is great, and the soothing music and voice really help out. Thanks for the videos, I'm excited to watch the following ones and for other games as well! +1 subscriber

Comment for the algorithm gods.

I picked up the game on sale a few weeks back and pretty quickly hit a wall on efficiencies and how to move forward. After 3 colonies that didn't fail, but didn't do very well and stagnated after a while, this set of tutorials has really helped me understand the priority orders and how to set everything up for later.

Thanks for the hard work. You have a new sub.

I recently bought oni, and Im still waiting for it to be added to my steam library, so I decided I should watch a few videos tha could guide me through thr game, and theres something about your commentary style that is so soothing and makes me come back for more videos (even though Im only halfway through this oni guide). anyways, just keep the amazing work youve been doing, youre a great youtuber :)

Oxygen Diffusers don't work if the gas pressure around them is too high (I think it's 1800g / 1.8kg per square), which means that if you haven't dug out a lot of space, it's gonna hit that limit and stop working. I *believe* this applies to all types of gas, not just oxygen, so if it's high CO2 around the diffuser, it won't work either.

Thank you for the tutorials! I'll admit, the lack of polluted water handling right now is sending my OCD off the rails, but I have faith we'll get to it soon.

Hey!! Just wanted to comment because I love the way you explain the game. Seriously I have spent MONTHS looking for a non-monotone streamer to properly explain the basics of the beginning of the game, and they don’t really exist.

I wanted to comment because i heard your pleas for subscribers and I totally subscribed. Please continue this series and other videos for Oxygen Not Included! Hell, your other videos might even get me to finally dive into Prison Architect, who knows.

Really liking the guide. Seeing it stepwise really helps me put it together in my head. Also, when you aimed your mouse at the farming tiles that weren't growing it indicated in red that growth was halted by "body temperature". So the plants were in an area that was either too hot or cold. Or at least the game thought they were. Could've been a bug for all I know. I'd have had to have checked the temperature overlay in a case like that.

I am so thankful that you made this a whole series, and didn't just end with the first video. This has been so useful!

As I said last episode, those four farm tiles are overheated. It could be that some air from above was more heated than your normal air, and it settled on those four tiles specifically, but I'm not entirely sure. I still think it's a glitch.
