As experienced ONI players (is there really such a thing?) we sometimes forget the learning curve of this game. It becomes an amazing game once you grasp the concepts, but like riding a bike, we forget what it was like to learn the first time. I think this is a great series for those new players who are picking up ONI and playing for the first time.

Considering I just lost my colony to heat death 30 mins ago, I think I'll be watching this series. Colony was thriving but it's the threat you don't see coming that kills you. One of these days I'll make it to space.

Coming back to this game recently, haven't played since before the DLC released. I've been binge watching all of your tutorials on the updates and DLC content. You do such a good job of making it understandable AND entertaining.

It's amazing how both don't starve and oni have the same game principle: you play, you fail, you restart doing better, you fail again and so on.
Also the "center of attention" buff was something that I did not realize in my 500 hours of playing the game... super interesting video!

Okay, you got me. I had ONI in my library for years, been in and out of learning this gem but most videos/guides out there seem to be overwhelming to a totally new guy to these kinda games (I'm a fighting game player by heart). I like how elaborate but not too rambly you explain things. I thought that's very important in introducing new complicated stuff to a total outsider. Subbed and thanks! :)

Five minutes in and already learned something. Did not know about setting viewpoints, makes managing the different areas so much easier. Thank you.

As someone who was suggested this game a few years ago with no instruction or warning, got frustrated at my duplicants peeing everywhere because I couldn't figure out plumbing, and only recently decided to give it another shot, I want to thank you from the bottom of my tired, cynical heart.

This is the first tutorial that didn't say, 'let me show you how to do this' and then just jumped straight to the finished product with none of the process or reasoning shown.

Thank you for slowing down for those of us who need it and showing your work so we know how you got there.

Deeply appreciative of this project.

There's so much to take in and even though I've logged over 3000 hours there's always something new. So thank you so much for the series!

When you pointed out that the dupes AND the nutrient bars were both made out of Genetic Ooze, I was really expecting a "you are what you eat" joke.

A 1000 hours in this game and i just learned you can change the key mapping and the view points. I think i'll follow this series closely

I like how he took the time to point out that both the dupes and nutrient bars are made from organic ooze. Cute little cannibals.

I am immensely grateful to this channel for putting all this work into creating such a great series. I have had ONI in my library for YEARS, and have always wanted to get into it but couldn't get past the learning curve by myself and would always lose momentum after the first 30 or so minutes of gameplay, not knowing how to progress effectively. I appreciate that it's separated into themed episodes too, so I can skip the parts I'm confident with or want to figure out myself and get straight to where I'm clueless.

Perfect timing! I’ve just got back into the game and I’ve already put my colony of the brink of death (We accidentally mined out a volcano on cycle 19 and now we can’t stop it) so this will be very useful!

Good morning Echo! I didn't know little Echo could do handstands. Thanks for helping out the community with this helpful series. It was your videos that brought me back last year after playing the oni beta.

A tip to anyone who sees this:
i don't know yet what Echo is going to say about the Glow Stick trait, but in my Opinion it is pretty useful
as long as you don't play with an increased difficulty on the Radiation setting, there is no problem, as the Glow Stick Dupes make less than 100 Rads per Cycle.
and 100 Rads/Cycle is the default amount of Radiation that dupes can absorb with no effects whatsoever

These Glow Stick Dupes can be used to get rid of Germs in locations, without having to put the germy things into a chlorine atmosphere

WOW, just perfect. The word ULTIMATE in your title is true. Congrats! Great material, and I know it`s not easy. Superb job.

This has gotten me pumped. Just started playing and most vids are 2 -3 years old. So this is just cool.
