Orthodontist Reacts: Clear Braces That Stain Yellow 😳 #shorts

As an orthodontist, I do not recommend clear ties when you have clear braces, because they often stain very easily. Instead, try using very light colors such as Pearl Blue or Light Blue, which are still barely noticeable on the braces, but are way less prone to staining from foods.

I would recommend silver if you have silver brackets.

I had braces for 2 years and just picked a random color every time I had them tuned. It’s not a big deal, believe me people rarely mention the color. If they mention your braces it’s gonna be just the braces, not the color of them.

I’ve been a dental assistant for 5 years now and know for a fact that there is a smoke color that is opaque and on teeth gives the illusion of clear without discoloration

I chose the braces that were plain silver brackets… they didn’t have the option to change colors and were much smaller than the brackets in the video, I honestly think that’s the better option

Had clear braces and used clear ties… never yellowed. I also, however, used the crest 2 step whitening tooth paste the entire time I had braces. Even when my braces came off my teeth were brilliantly white.

i kinda want pearl blue or sunset colored braces or an aligners because i already have glasses and dont wannt be the laughing stock of the school 😕 im also in theatre club and the spring that i have to get (i have an overbite) would make it really hard to sing

I tried to pick clear and my orthodontist told me they turn ugly after a week and said I should get silver if I don’t want them to be noticeable so I did thankfully

When I had braces my dentist actually found it fun because I would always pick new colours, sometimes mix it up by choosing one colour up and one colour down or like purple, blue, purple, blue. She found it oddly calming to do and I found it fun

I had clear brackets along with clear rubber bands my whole braces journey. Mine never stained. As long as you don’t drink dark drinks like soda coffee or tea, and have good oral hygiene (brushing after each meal) you should be fine.

good to know my favorite “color” is clear so given the option i would choose clear. now i have to remember this when i do get braces.

I chose light blue at first when I got in my braces and it was green within days🙃

Edit: don’t come for me lol it would wash off sometimes but one time I ate Cheeto puffs and it was green for the rest of my time having them
