Sorry. The american dream is not available for the majority of people. When I was in school, I was told that if you work hard, be moral, and things will work out. That worked for 90% of the population. You didn't have to have a high IQ or a side hustle or a silver spoon in your mouth. Today you have to scramble harder than any previous generation currently living. You also have to be incredibly lucky. Although it can work out the realization that its not working for 90% of the people should be a wake up call for all of us.

As a laborer married with 3 kids, there is no way I can afford to buy a home, raise my kids an not work every hr of my life currently. It’s dead an sad to see well off men tell me otherwise 🤷🏼‍♂️

You’re living in rich man’s land if you think we live in an America with the same ability to reach middle class status as we had three decades ago…then you’re living in a rich man’s world. I’m a middle class libertarian conservative. But I also work multiple jobs and my wife works as well. In fact, I have two really good jobs. My dad didn’t have the same issue. He worked one job 40 hours a week while my mom stayed home. He raised two kids, bought a home, took us on good vacations..all from that one job.

The american dream as we knew it IS DEAD! My home has doubled in value which normally would be a positive. The problem is all other property has doubled or tripled in value along with the fact that interest rates are absolutley ridiculous! Thank god I have a fixed rate on my mortgage from when Trump was in office!

Your environment is completely disconnected from reality. From your circle of friends, to your professional life, to the acquisition of everything you want.
Villas. The luxury cars. Expensive watches and so on.
I understand that you took risks, persevered and never gave up and it finally paid off for you...
I may be an optimist, but rationally, it's impossible for most people to reach the “dream”...

You just lost a subscriber man, I am all for taking responsibility for one’s own standing in life, but you are seriously out of touch if you don’t think the average young person is getting screwed harder than ever in every direction you can imagine. Whether it be financially, pshycoligically, romantically, etc. we are slowly having opportunities that past generations enjoyed hollowed out of our country and we’ve got to put it to a stop.

These guys don’t realize that being able to work remotely would unlock the American Dream for the new generation because don’t need to be clustered in metro centers and can afford house in lower cost locales.

In the 70’s people making minimum wage ($2/hr) needed to work 25 hours a month to cover rent and even some mortgages. Now individuals need to work 150 hours a month to just cover rent. The younger generation is doomed. Let it sink in. 💀
