"Genie in a Bottle" is a song by Christina Aguilera, released in 1999 as the lead single from her self-titled debut album. The song's lyrics revolve around the theme of self-respect and the desire to feel a genuine connection with someone before becoming intimate. In the metaphorical sense, Christina Aguilera compares herself to a "genie" trapped in a bottle, indicating that she is waiting for someone who can release her with the right kind of respect and understanding, rather than just physical desire.

The chorus, "If you wanna be with me, baby there's a price to pay, I'm a genie in a bottle, you gotta rub me the right way, " suggests that the person interested in her must not only show physical interest but also emotional and respectful dedication. The song cleverly plays on the classic tale of a genie granting wishes, but twists it to convey a message about consent, mutual respect, and the importance of emotional connection in relationships.

"Genie in a Bottle" was a significant hit for Aguilera, helping to establish her as a pop icon and garnering acclaim for its catchy melody and empowering message.

We had a song in France from a band called Billy Ze Kick called "mangez-moi" (eat me) which is about searching for and eating magic mushrooms, and it sounds really cute. So as 7 year-olds we were singing that all the time, we had no idea that these mushrooms were special. 😅
