Hey friends, in this video I talk about one of the best books I read last year called The Pathless Path by Paul Millerd. I absolutely loved it and I think you will too. It's a freeing book to read and reminds us that there is more to life than work and fulfilling societal expectations. If you're having any kind of career struggles, I definitely recommend checking it out. Enjoy x

No matter what path you choose, there are prices to be paid. No one embraces the Zen/Tao/Hippy/Creative path as completely as Surfers (People Who Ride Waves). First Lesson: Money Is NOT Wealth. Second Lesson: Experiences are more valuable that Possessions/Things. Third Lesson: By the time you arrive at your goal, it's never what you imagined or expected.

*I don't know who needs to hear this, but don't chase comfort at the age of labor, so you won't labor at the age of comfort.*

My mum always said "Don't be afraid to change your mind" It's always okay to change your job and the way you live your life, but don't be afraid to change something that isn't working for you ☺️

Something that really stuck with me was Jim Carey saying “you can fail at what you don’t like”. And that will forever be something I keep in mind and move forward with

Thanks for sharing, Ali. At this point in my life, I am feeling uncertain and it's scary but If my dreams and goal don't scare me then is it worth it. I am stepping into faith and continuing to embrace uncertainty rather than sitting in my comfort.

i legitimately powered through each point where i would typically fast forward because of the pacing bar on the bottom of each segment. love it! ty for supporting our short attention spans, it was easy to engage

I love this video. Thanks so much for the fresh insights. I became unemployed recently and have went from feeling down to waking up excited about all the things I can do now with my spare time.

Actually, the default path is an ILLUSION of certainty. I think people now more than ever are realizing these companies don't value their workers and often fire them on the whim.

Nothing is certain and security is an illusion. Cultivate curiosity and wonder-- love it!

i took the pathless path, multiple trainings and lateral drifts, at the time i graduated from highschool, then at 35 i took a detour onto the default path for 10 years, i dont regret it, it helped me pay off a mortgage, but i left it for an even more pathless route at age 45, now at age 55, its all finally starting to gel. i wish i could have learned my lessons much much earlier, but in the end, ive lived my life as i wanted, and im looking forward to the exploration of the next and last 20 of my productive years and making a plan for the more restricted final decade.

I like this. First video I've seen in awhile where I don't feel as if I'm watching an ad. I like new Ali. Keep it up. You aren't talking 1000mph, either. Majority of your videos I cannot watch without popping my anxiety med.

Fear setting questions for you to copy and paste:
1. Define your nightmare the absolute worst that could happen if you did when you were considering.
2. What steps can you take to repair the damage or get things back on the upswing even if temporarily?
3. What are the outcomes or benefits both temporary and permanent of more probable scenarios?
4. If you were fired from your job today, what would you do to get things under financial control?
5. What are you putting off out of fear?
6. What is it costing you--- financially, emotionally, and physically --- to postpone action?
7. What are you waiting for?

The weird thing is, the uncertainty that exists on the pathless paths, still exists on the default path.

I’ve decided I’m quitting my job and pursuing something I’ve been called to do. I’m not sure of it but what I’m sure of is I’m not happy where I’m at, so here’s to finding happiness 😊

I'm pathless. Languages -> philosophy -> acting -> YouTube -> next is probably going to be writing lol. Nobody understands me. I don't understand myself either, I was just born this way.
