This video failed to mention the biggest asset for Taiwan…the United States

This entire video was literally an explanation of the stock pile of weapons each country has and spent so little time explaining how Taiwan could defend itself against China if war breaks out.

Numbers doesn't mean they are stronger... Look at Ukraine and Russia on paper Russia could have taken kiyv in a matter of days by numbers and look how good Ukraine is doing against Russia with less men and equipment!

The US and their allies spend waaayyy more on military than their foes. But recently I realized how terribly the US overprices its military products. So that scares me a bit. How much power does the US military actually have?

I watched the first 10 minutes of this, waiting for **anything** that justified the use of 'numbers that shocked everyone' in the title. Nada. Clickbait.

Numbers alone is not a guarantee of success. Battle readiness of troops also is a factor.

On the subject of nukes; China would never deploy them on Taiwan unless they posed an actual threat to mainland China. I mean think about it. China wants to take over Taiwan to annex them and take their resources; primarily microprocessor/semiconductor production. It's a lot harder to take over an island when you made it a nuclear wasteland that's uninhabitable.
That's also another factor of the war that went unmentioned in the video. A lot of weapons systems rely on I wonder if China would be able to keep their war efforts going if they don't have access to at least one of the worlds largest supplier of microprocessors; Taiwan. Especially considering 4 of the top 5 producers in order are: Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and the United States (with China taking 5th place). Almost all of those countries are allied with the US in some way, and would definitely embargo/sanction China in the event they try to wage war.
So sure nukes might come into play if Taiwan attacks mainland China (unlikely) and at most would get dropped it on key military bases; but even still the chances of them being deployed is relatively low. Especially considering Taiwan is loosely allied with the US who has one of the largest nuclear arsenals globally. They're more likely to get attacked in more 'traditional' ways like infantry, navy, and air force before any of that came into play as they know retaliation would be imminent if they went nuclear immediately. Nukes are more so a deterrent to other nations with nukes. In the modern day; we understand the implications of deploying them. If they were an instant trump card; Russia would've nuked Ukraine and 'won' the war already. The US would've nuked every country it tried to colonize in the past like Vietnam. So while you can win defensive wars with nukes; it's well known you cannot 'win' a war against a nation you plan to annex with nukes without risking destroying a significant portion of what you're fighting over.

Everybody wins keeping peace. Everyone lose fighting. Everyone benefits keeping open for eeveryone. Nobody wins fighting as everyone is so capable of destroying each other. So for humanity sake, keep peace

"Our cash pile is getting so big, even the Pentagon is taking notes!"

As a Taiwanese, I confirm that this precisely describes our relationship with the US military.

I think the biggest factor is who the president of the US is come this November.

You forgot to mention one important weapon that Taiwan has... The three gorges dam.

My Taiwanese nephew just finished his mandatory military service. He says it was more like summer camp. They barely even got to touch the guns.

Chinese troops aren't that well trained compared to Taiwanese troops. Plus every Island nation in the area would automatically help Taiwan out as the last thing they need is China having more territory which allow them to have more easier time to launch an all out attack against them. US will also help as if Taiwan falls to China the Chinese will have an easier time to launch naval fleet as Taiwan is under Chinese control so they can easily go straight through.

Pray for peace between the two countries and no war, Don't be foolish to think that the US will protect the country of Ukraine. This is an expensive lesson for us. Currently, we are preparing to lose our country and lack money, making the country poor and its people miserable.

As an international living in Taiwan for 3 years, seeing videos like these just makes me confirm the fact that the media blows everything up than it's supposed to be.

Taiwan and the residents are living their life as if there is no pressure from China. Most of the time, I even forget there is that tension from China especially on how relaxed and nonchalant the residents are here. We live our life as if I would live it in my country. Yes, there is the pressure from China, but most of it is extremely overblown by the media.
