A woman out for a walk is being followed by a man. She attempts to get away, but he's right behind her every step of the way.

That's when a good citizen sees what's going on and steps in.

Good for her for carrying pepper spray and being aware of her surroundings instead of stuck on her phone. Stay alert ladies and carry some form of protection. Looks like he was waiting for an opportunity to accost her.

Remember to always shake your pepper spray before you use it. The oils and chemicals separate and it will be ineffective if sprayed before shaking. Also remember to hold your breath and close your eyes when you spray it. If you don’t, you could also be incapacitated with the perp. Find his face (eyes and nose are best), then spray with your eyes shut or turn your head.

It doesn’t matter what we say or do, they will spew hate at us. I’m just glad there are guys out there like the fellow in the video, who put himself between the stalker and that frightened young woman.

Thank you Joe for being an incredible man!! I'm guessing those blaming the woman were mostly men although I'm going to take another guess and say that some were also women. I can't believe we live still to this day with victim blaming, it's disgusting and people who do it should be completely ashamed of themselves!! It shouldn't matter what a person is wearing. That man probably knew that she knew she was being followed and was terrified by what could happen to her, he also probably knew he was being filmed and then there was a witness to part of what was going on and he still followed her, he at one point walked right up to her and Joe. The fact he did all this in day light and he didn't seem scared or nervous I think shows he's done this before and doesn't care if he's caught. I hate to think how many women have walked around LA in terror because of this man. Please be safe ladies where ever you are!!!

At least she was able to have her pepper spray handy. In Australia it's illegal unless you're a cop. We literally have nothing to defend us as women. We do, however, have a great sense of community. When people see something happening here they will step in and help, just like Joe.

This is how you know dogs are amazing as well. It wasnt even paying attention to the girl at all, entirely focused on the creep. Same as how my dog won’t bark at kids or mailmen walking by, but the occasional tweaker gets her riled up. Beautiful animals.

Just a couple days ago I was walking my dog in the quiet evening, there was a younger girl (probably mid to late teens) walking on her own on a quiet road.

There was a guy on a bicycle with a very aggressive energy/aura who rode by me and I just looked back and saw him staring at the girl, like really glaring at her as he rode by.

I slowed down just so I could watch and he rode off thankfully. I’m not accusing anything, all I’m saying is there are dangerous people around, but there are also protectors around.
