Theory of Mind | False Belief Tasks & Understanding Mental States

In this video, we will be talking about an important concept in the field of developmental psychology: theory of mind. Theory of mind is one's ability to understand other's mental states. This is typically studied using false belief tasks, most commonly the Sally-Anne test, and allows researchers to see if children can think about the character's perspectives.

A relationship with someone who has no theory of mind and is unaware of that fact is quite a challenge.

Another example is life a poor country where people with power and nepotism get into managerial seats.
And then you get bad traffic roads and signs - because the person in charge thinks that because he knows the rules of particular road, that everyone else who drives must know them too.
It is about making decision to make narrow road because they drive small car and they are unable to imagine that road will be used by the huge trucks, buses, coaches of all kinds, and bicycles and that narrow road will be problem for those who must park there.

I still dont understand why the child would think the marble is in the box instead of the basket despite not seeing or being told that it was prior to returning
