Woman Arrested After Leaving Children Home Alone While At Bar | Police Cam Encounters

@Police Cam Encounters obtained body cam footage of an incident where a woman left four children unsupervised while she was out drinking at a bar.

Police say a nine-year-old was left in charge of her three siblings at a home. “She was obviously not equipped to take care of three young children,” said MSgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Officers found the nine-month-old asleep face down. The nine-year-old said she, “fed the baby pizza… because she didn’t know what to feed her.”

“There’s no law that addresses at what age a child is responsible enough to take care of other children. Obviously, it’s a case-by-case basis. In this particular case, this child was overwhelmed with the duties that she was tasked with,” Knight said.

A neighbor said the kids are now in custody of another family member. She faces charges of child neglect, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.

5am- wake up
5:15- shower dressed
5:30- get my 2 girls 4&5 dressed
6:00- drop off at sitters
6:30- go to work
6:00pm- get home
6:30- Pick up girls
7:00- get home
7:15- feed them dinner
8:15- baths and story/T.V time
9:15- Bed time
9:30- chores/ nightly cigarette/ Coffee (I don’t drink)
10:00- Alittle relax/ T.V
11:00- Bed

Repeat 7 days a week 365 days a year

I am soooo sick of the “im a single mother just trying to get by” excuse. I was raised by a single mother who couldn’t have done a better job at raising me and my brother primarily by herself. She always made sure we had everything we needed, never put anyone above us, etc. She’s a nurse and would work long hours and lord knows she was super stressed from her job but never took her stress out on us. She’s the best and I love her so damn much. My mother is the kind of mother every child deserves!

She already lost her kids once and THIS is what she's done with the second chance she was given to be a good mom. That's despicable. She should not be allowed to get those babies back after this.

A friend lost her 10mo daughter because the babysitter didn't follow safe sleep guidelines. The officer pointing this out really got me. He knows. You can tell he is coming from a place of experience as a father and an officer who has responded to calls involving neglect and abuse.

She didn’t care about it her kids at ALL. She immediately had excuses then stated complaining about how “unfair” it is. And the way she barked orders at the other girl on the phone who was her “best friend” like she just expected her do everything made my blood boil.

The sad part is, there’s probably thousands of mothers across the world that do the exact same thing as this woman. People can’t have kids that want kids and the people that do keep getting pregnant don’t embrace the responsibility. Self-centered and reckless. Despicable.

There are women who are very sadly childless and would do ANYTHING to be a mommy - Then there's THIS terrible "mother" who has 3 babies and she doesn't look after them at all. I'm so disgusted and shocked with the way she responded to the police and their concerns 😟. God help her children, please 🙏🏻

I am looking at my sleeping 6 year old and sobbing. How as a mother, a parent do you have such a blatant disregard for the safety of your child. For a night out to get drunk… this is infuriating. That Cop was who I needed to be in this situation.
