The Method of Polarized Traces

One of several new videos created by our researchers for the Society of Exploration Geophysicists 2018 meeting, this one is by Dr. Leonardo Zepeda-Nunez (a recent ERL alum who is now a postdoc at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory) in collaboration with Dr. Matthias Taus (ERL postdoc), Dr. Russel Hewett (former ERL postdoc now at Virginia Tech) and Prof. Laurent Demanet of MIT Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences and MIT Department of Mathematics. Dr. Zepeda-Nunez's work has focused on finding new ways to solve the Helmholz equation, a partial differential equation used in fields (like seismology) that study waveforms.
