Here’s what to look for when you’re choosing fish at the supermarket!

Let’s take a look at Salmon, as a good example.

The most important thing, is whether it’s wild caught or farm caught.

If your salmon is wild caught, you know it’s eating a natural diet and should be free from antibiotics and pesticides.

For farmed fish, fish farmers use antibiotics and pesticides to raise ‘healthy’ fish.

They also use synthetic carotenoids, such as astaxanthin, in the feed to turn the salmon flesh a nice ‘salmon’ color.

Some studies have found that farmed salmon can accumulate higher levels of toxins like PCBs, which can affect immune system, reproductive system, nervous system and endocrine system.
