I'm happy you mention that selling masterwork gear to vendors is an option. People have bashed me in the past for mentioning that. And while it does take extra effort, given you ought to identify gear before you sell it and that is inventory intensive, it's generally the best economic outcome. With the current tier 5 prices, I think it's more profitable to vendor masterwork gear and then buy materials off the trading post, but most people are just too lazy to do it. (With that said you also do occasionally get tier 6 materials and charms from salvaging).

But I think new players who may be searching for this video, may be obliged to go through the extra work for the best economic outcome.

Hey Abree, I recently came back to GW2 and first thing I did was to get some help with my bags since I no longer remembered how to sort the good from bad. The player who taught me actually showed me this exact method so I just want to thank you for making it so clear and easy to watch. Subscribed and please continue to put up content like this. Even if it already exists, I like your style. :) Peace!

Thanks a ton for this guide! I always used the copper-fed salvage kit on my green gear and had no idea about the runecrafter's kit. Now that you've opened my eyes to that, I'll be sure to invest my next gem purchase into getting one. I've also been wasting my BL salvage kits on those exotics too. Thanks for those tips on how to properly make bank on them!

why do you salvage the blues? from my experience the mats sell for less compared to selling the item at a vendor.

Just one addition, you can get green amulets and rings which arent worse to use the runecrafter kit on em. For rare (yellow) gear its the same and with elonian gear too, it doesnt have runes so i using on amulets rings and elonian the mystic kit and on anything else the runecrafter.

Thanks as always for the great video, Abree! I’d love to see an example of the more complex methods you mentioned in the future, if possible :)

First of all, thanks for answering comments too. Your insight on this has been super helpful.

On to my question.
The advice I was given was “if you can only buy one, buy runic” as far as spending on gems. Then just using Runic for rares. Is this accurate? Is using Runic on rares considerably worse than a Silver-fed if I don’t have one? I still receive exit and even receive multiple sometimes. Does the 5% difference apply to the ectoplasm or just the chance to get a better ingredient (getting an orichalcum instead of mythril)? I tried to find out but couldn’t.

Black Lions salvage kit for exotic if you're needing dark matter for ascended gear, (this is the only way to get DM for crafting ascended), if you're hurting for gold then, yes, list on the trading post.

IMO it depends. If your goal is to make only gold then you can salvage those rare or exotic gear by selling those t6 materials on the trading post but if you are focusing on making legendary weapons, tier 6 materials are really expensive and you need 250 each of those. What I do is sell the green and blue straight and occasionally open rare one to salvage then rest I sell.
