The fact that they told us it was able to be turned off and you can’t is a problem, they lied.

When they were first teasing the game, the official NFS account stated multiple times in the comments (replies) that you can disable the effects. Kind of a bummer but I guess it's no surprise seeing a corporation lie.

As soon as there is an option to turn off the cartoon effects completely, then I'm buying it. Until then, it's a deal breaker for me.

Main thing I don't like about the effects is the wings when in the air .you should be able to customize each type of effect instead of bundling them together

This is the deciding factor on whether I'll purchase the game. Without the ability to turn them off i won't purchase. Unless they patch this is a no from me I'll stick with heat for now.

Am I the only person who’s reasonably disappointed by this game? They kept claiming you can turn the cartoon effects off but you really can’t. They claimed there is an all new physics system but it’s the same handling model from Heat. It’s nearly the same exact car list and customization from Heat. It’s $70+ for a game where the only difference is it’s on a new map with gimmicky cartoon animations. Not to mention that the multiplayer isn’t even finished at release too.

So they make a game with very realistic graphics and then decide to ruin it with cartoon effects? Image if Kinkaid painted a realistic painting and then let Picasso finish it. That's what they did here.

It sucks they said you can turn the effects off when it looks like you actually can't. Not an issue for me because I like the effects, but they shouldn't have lied like that (they flat out said you could turn the effects off on Twitter). I hope they implement a way to turn them off for people who don't like the effects.

There is actual smoke before the effects pop up when you do burnouts so it will probably come in an update. There are things and issues I'm the game that needs to be fixed such as no sound for the superchargers lol but overall the game is very fun I love it
