Think how many people Sixx has helped. He's a huge Rock star and doesn't have to come forward and put himself out there as a Heroin addict if he doesn't want to.I respect him for his decision to reach out to folks.

I feel connected to Nikki Sixx. I am a recovering addict and I went through pretty much the same childhood he did. My mother was just like his. She constantly yelled and swore at me, called me names like useless and no good bastard, WHEN I WAS A PREETEEN!!!, and she came home with loser men that verbally abused me. My father also left and didn't even acknowledge I was his son too, like Nikki's father. All that plus the fact that I am also a musician makes me feel that connection to him. I can certainly relate to him 100%.

I'm glad he was able to overcome his addiction.  We have lost far too many talented people to drug addiction.

If I hadn't had a massive heart attack and died I wouldn't have stayed clean. Almost 7years now. I'm lucky I survived and smart enough to never go back

I am a recovery coach and I run a sober house, and I am also a person in long term recovery, and Nikki Sixx is spot on here. Being a person in recovery from addiction is nothing to be ashamed of. Thankfully the stigma associated with it is starting to go away. There's still some stigma, but it's not near as bad as it was in past decades.

I really wish my ex had been able to watch this. He idolized Motley Crue. He also passed away a year and a half ago from complications from alcoholism. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your stories and your message with the world! I hope it helps many other fans deal with their own addictions.

A serious problem being addressed by a (formerly) serious addict. Kudos to Nikki Sixx for coming out the other side of that hell and going out of his way to help others make it.

I was never a Motley Crew fan, simply because they weren't really of my era.., but really see Nikki as a stand up guy.., happy to see that he turned his life around and is helping others...

I met him once by accident and he left me with a bad feeling. This clip has changed that opinion and I wish him well.

Nikki Sixx is the very reason I have 9 1/2 years clean and sober from Heroin. 100% gave me the courage to get help.
