Instant police karma for impatient driver who cuts up HGV at lights to save 60 seconds

DASHCAM footage shows an impatient driver cut up an HGV at lights to save 60 seconds - only to suffer instant karma at the hands of the police.
The clip shows traffic in the left lane queuing to go straight ahead at lights while the right hand lane is empty.

A car then zooms up the right hand lane and then pulls left to cut in front of the HGV.

For future reference: Truck requires a large gap to clear yellow box. Changing across box lanes to cut in front and block his or anyone else's for that matter, required clearance gap is careless driving or driving without due care and attention. 3-9 penalty points. Ignore at your own peril.

Seems far too many drivers don't know what the yellow box means. It doesn't mean you are not allowed to stop as some have commented. You are NOT allowed to enter the box if your exit is NOT clear. A vehicle turning right can enter the box and stop as long as their exit is clear and they are being prevented from turning by traffic travelling in the opposite derection.

There was no danger and no real issue. He was unlucky really if it was just for the right turn violation.

I suspect he was probably speeding on the approach to the junction and that's the main reason the coppers want a word.

I have gotten tickets in london from guys like this who jump into you space and now you are left hanging in the yellow box. You can usually appeal but sometimes they dont care

It was driving on a "right turn only" line, than proceed straight.0:01 Thus probably an added reason to be stopped.
