As being diagnosed with ADHD i find very irritating that people usually think just because they can’t focus on something sometimes or are very energetic they just think that they have adhd/add. And in reality it affects more than that.

My “friend” recently told me that depression is a choice. If you have depression, just choose not to be sad. This was very hurtful to my other friends who deal with depression and suicidal thoughts. I should definitely share this video with this one particular friend!

my nan has scizophrenia and she thought people were watching her. People were like 'does she see people that arent there' but she is just extremely paranoid. She is usually misunderstood

I talked to the staff at my youth group thingy about my ocd and they both went “oh I do that too! I think everyone seems to have it” and stuff like that and I don’t remember last time I felt that invalidated.

I have really severe OCD and hearing everyone say they have it is kind of irritating. I have such bad symptoms that I can hardly get around anywhere, or do absolutely anything without feeling extremely distressed. I hope anyone else who has OCD can get better and find treatment. Thank you for this video and its representation.

I have three of these mental disorders and living your day-to-day life is difficult because people would always come come up to me and say "stop being so sad", "you're just being dramatic", "stop being a baby", "stop pretending", "you're just looking for attention" and way more hurtful things . They just don't understand because they have never been through count less traumatic situation and events to put them in this type of mindset .

Together, we all can end the mental health stigma by understanding, not dismissing or passing them off to someone else

My parents and some of my friends keep saying
"Oh, but anxiety is not something real, you are just overreacting. And I always tried to tell them that it's a serious thing, but they don't understand :(
Oh, and the same with other mental disorders

When you said DID i started crying. The amount of people that have asked whether my alters are psycho murderers - it makes us upset— we are normal people- just sharing a body to deal with childhood trauma

I held a speech about my OCD in one of my classes, it felt like a big step forward because it was the first time I've told such a big group about my disorder.

I have OCD, and shows and movies definitely don't help. I am not like Monk, I am not like Monica from friends, I am not like Emma from Glee.

Gender dysphoria is also misunderstood, to my understanding, my parents KNOW what it is and how it can affect people, but they don't seem to know why it makes me so self conscious about stuff, could you maybe do a video on that?

I think most - if not all - of the mental disorders are misunderstood. When I was younger I didn't know anything about those. When I was hearing about someone who went to the therapist or psychologist, I was thinking about a crazy person and I was somewhat scared. Now I still don't know much about it, but I try to not judge without knowing what I'm talking about. It is very important for all of us to understand the difference between illness and someone who just had a bad day. Thank you for spreading such important information!

Diagnosed with MDD and bipolar. With all the bad/misinformation being spread, it's nice to see someone help others understand what these medical conditions are. Thank you for your work!
