Danke sehr.
First, I would not be able to breathe in the position you've demonstrated and after 2 back injuries and 3 neck injuries (plus other injuries & illnesses) I can only sleep on my sides. NEVER on my back. When I have tried (accidentally) I've woken up with very cold numb arms, painful pins & needles, and I cannot move my arms (or fingers/wrists/any part of my arms) and can barely move my legs, which also get various degrees of the same issues - it's like falling asleep on the limb and cutting off circulation but I'm NOT on the limb, it's free and unrestricted. Weird and SCARY! There is no way I can do that and doctors as well as physiotherapists, osteopaths and other professionals have instructed me to only sleep on my side. My problem is horrible neck pain due to 3 whiplash injuries causing me a lot of sleepless nights, as well as exacerbating chronic headaches. I'm sure other people can relate. Strangely, the weirdest symptom is the difficulty breathing. I've tried dozens of pillows. I can't seem to win. Surely there must be another way :-(
Do you have any advice for people unable to sleep on their backs? Bitte?
