I discovered Indian chai tea for the first time on June 3, and I'm 50 years old. I experimented with various kinds for the last week. There are lots of recipes out there with all kinds of spices. I found your simple recipe with what seems to be the basic tea---tea, ginger and cardamom. I followed the recipe and it is really good, nice strong tea taste.

Thanks so much, I grew up in a South Indian home, where filter coffee was staple, so I did not know to make tea. Made this today and enjoyed it along with my wife. Mornings are made for plain tea like this, evening tea is best with dunking Parle G biscuits. #missing   #home

Just made it for the first time and I barely caught it in time for it to boil over lol but it's a small mess and the chai is pretty good!

It was quite successful. I doubt my chai was the best there is, but it did definitely have the essence of chai. I wanted to make this additional post to say that I used three teabags, which I emptied and milled down to a powder. So as far as I can tell, there's nothing magical about powdered tea, rather, it's just extremely fine tea. Thanks again. It certainly tastes better than the boring instant coffee I've been habitually drinking whenever I get a chance to sit down with myself.

The color of your tea is beautiful which tea you are using ? I live in Europe from Indian shops I can get Red label or waghbakri or English tea brands.
