As a non-Indian I got so impressed by your drawers for spices!
I used to live in a university dorm with an Indian girl, and she made me some chai for the first time (fun fact: we, russians also call tea "chai"), we cooked for eachother our local dishes and it was super fun. I found your video, because I got nostalgic of my student days. I still remember the day she moved in our room and started unpacking, and I was so surprised of her taking out a huge box of different spices, which probably took 1/4th of her luggage😄I'm happy that now we can cook almost any meal by learning from real representatives of their culture

For the plants, I never want to cut them either but I take the cuts, sit them in water, let them grow roots and put back into the pot for a fuller looking plant. Thanks for the tea tutorial!

I am so jealous of your spice drawers! In fact, I sent this to my husband as a hint. I would love a "tour" of your spice drawer, maybe as the framework for a series of recipes explaining how Indian cooking uses spices.

I followed your directions and added a little cinnamon and it was INCREDIBLE! I'm going to make this everyday.

My mum always makes masala saa for us when we're sick. A bonus is when boiling the tea, the entire house fills with the aroma of spices. It's so comforting especially on an autumn/winter's day :)

I love the Parsi style with lemon grass and mint leaves. I usually do it like you with the cardamom and ginger, but now I throw in a couple fresh mint leaves too. Absolute game changer imo!

I drank buckets of masala chai when my husband and I visited India, it was fantastic!! Coming back home I bought many brands of concentrates, some are quite good, but find that they’re all entirely too sweet. I love your recipe and that I can control the sugar amount!

I love the base layers you're including. We definitely add 3 peppercorns (match the clove content for warmth) and I crush about a quarter or half stick of cinnamon. Otherwise, we pretty much have an identical recipe and method. Always let people sweeten their chai to their preference. Love it!

Cut your long plant to the left of your stove and put the cut bit in water. When the roots form you can plant it in the same pot with the Mama plant to make it nice and full. Love this chai recipe, thank you!

WOW! This is identical to how my mom makes it who in my opinion makes the BEST tea in the world :). We recently switched from using dairy to oatly's oat milk for health reasons and now prefer it with oat milk. Fantastic video and explanation!

Chopping the plants actually will help them send up new growth. Chop it, stick it in water until it grows new roots and then plant it back in the same pot. It will be much fuller and happier 🥰 Thanks for the Chai tutorial 💕💯

I lived in Assam for a few years and made it this way with cinnamon added. For a while I've been using ginger powder as a shortcut. You inspired me to use fresh ginger again and it makes a world of difference. Thanks, Chetna!☕️💕

I've been drinking chai with the same ingredients you used for years but following your method was a game changer. Just by changing the steps, boiling the spices first made one of the best chai I've ever made and had. WOW...never going back to any other method, found my cooking channel on YouTube. Keep doing these awesome videos Chetna. ❤️❤️🙏

Today, I tried your Masala Chai recipe in the morning, and I was truly blown away by the taste of it. I tasted many other "exotic" recipes from internet for this delicacy but didn't get good results. Yours one was simple yet delicious. The chai actually tasted like chai because of the lesser amount of milk and hard liquor, not like some milkshake. Thanks 🎉

I was cautious about boiling the tea leaves, but I followed your method and was surprised how good it turned out. Thank you.
