If that was a Ford youll have to remove the seats, axle, fuel tank, brake lights and starter just to get to that sensor.

I keep a new one in the glove box. They sometimes just fry for no reason . Wiping them works sometimes. A new one is like 16 bucks .

I got a clunk on my XJ only when shifting into drive. I replaced the control arms, engine mounts, transmission mounts and u joints and still got the same clunk i even replaced the transmission as well. Some say it is the NSS sensor that causes the clunk.

Have you ever had a zj have a converter stuck in lock up?

Shouldn’t we be worried about the metal in the transmission? Yes it may help with that code, but I think some other service may be needed

Some places will say needs a new transmission

Should spray brake clean or carb clean and clean the inside. Most of the time the sensor is bad the magnet gets weak or electronic problems in the senser. Yhat eip and clean is rare. Most likely to see that problem. It needed transmission fluid and filter changed a long ti.e ago. Transmission is not in good shape

Will this cause 1-2 over rev at shifting?

I replaced the speed sensor on my XJ and the odometer usually will not get over 45mph unless you get over 75 then it is 10 under.

Would be more concerned about the metal shavings than the sensor. The speed sensor has done 2 jobs there, now I know I have wear

And why in the hell would you put a sensor on a transmission?

Where are the free paper towels and Chanel locks?

It’s called pliers not channel lock. Channel lock is brand not a tool name. Come on now, learn your tools.

dont use channel locks, btw you need a scan tool but anyone with half a brain would never have bought a chrysler product anyway
