I can confirm that I’ve since checked my bank statement and I was charged an additional £23.60 from that day at IKEA 👍

PS. An electric scooter just went live on Planet Of Dreams! ⚡️👇

Press the boot button twice when it’s open and it will close it, for you too. Also, set the comfort access to on, and you don’t have to press any buttons. Just walk up to the car and the handles will present themselves.

If you owned the car, you wouldn’t go out of your way to charge it. You charge over night at home.

Jacks Lacey's comments are spot on. The £1 was simply the check charge to ensure your account was active, the real charge will appear in a day or two. 🤣🤣

Love how positive that little lad is about the Tesla... He's the future after all!! 👍🏻

After having an electric car for 4 months now I can honestly say I don't even think about charging day to day. I just plug it in at night at home on the drive. Going to a petrol station to fill up would now definitely be an inconvenience.

My 17 yr old son's just bought a Toyota mr2 mk1 and I'm driving it until he passes his test and when I'm driving it I'm smiling, I'm loving it and people are wanting to talk to us and take photos of it and i don't want to get out of it and always driving the long way where ever we go, i can't imagine an EV will have the same effect ever.

You’re using the regenerative braking as an on off switch, let off the throttle gently, less throttle equals more braking
Treat coming off the accelerator in the same way you apply your brake :)

It costs me £3.85 to fully charge my Tesla. I charge it a few nights a week at home. Like charging a phone, you wouldn’t do it in the day unless you’re going on a long run.

This Video needs more attention! This will be looked at in the future, when the Used Electric Car market will be a massive massive thing. Good Vid Cal! Your son's passion for a Tesla should be noted marra. Our Kids are the guys who will be in the thick of this before you know it! Bloody good honest video mate!

Really good balanced video. I’m getting an EV later this year (not a Tesla - too expensive) as a company car but can honestly say I wouldn’t get one as a private buyer yet, even a used one. I’m lucky I will have free charging at work (once a week) so 99% of the time will not need to use public chargers - just on the occasional longer journey a few times a year. I appreciate they don’t make sense yet for a lot of people but this will change over time as range increases, costs come down and charging infrastructure improves. A few years away until they overtake (excuse the pun!) ICE vehicles but having test-driven a few and spoken to many EV owners, I think the vast majority of people will love their EV’s.

Good rounded video, love my Tesla and will do 550 miles in a day with charging stops no longer than grabbing a coffee but also can charge for few pounds at home, but also love my Diesel defender but as you say it makes no sense putting £100 of fuel in. Best way to charge a electric car is like a phone at night at home.

As a Tesla owner….and solar on my house….. I have not had an electric bill in over 2 years. Free driving….. what’s not to like?

Absolutely get the travel sickness thing, I can hardly travel with someone else driving for 10mins without feeling rough!

I am not a petrol head but i am just as enthusiastic about Tesla and any other electric car as you are about your M5. Totally understand the desire to get in a car and enjoy driving and in my case more so when its got the luxury smooth silence of an EV.

That didt cost a £1 to charge thats the connection fee, you were charged at 0.39p per KW you will get a bill. My model long range costs about £15 at rapid charger (average) and about £9 home charge per charge. VW sponsor pod point/tesco you can charge any car there. Battery degradation is different on all make but 6% in the 1st year is not uncommon after that it will slow to 1-2% per year hope that helps. Oh comparing a Tesla 85 to any modern EV is like saying my M2 comp does everything better then my Dacia sanero :P

Thing to remember: if you have a charger at home (about £800 to buy and install) you’ll wake up everyday with a full tank :)

Perfectly said calvin.
Electric cars are for a to b merchants who are not real car enthusiasts.
Petrol cars are for people that have soul..
I hope electric cars don't replace petrol entirely.

Would be good to see you review a Tesla model Y that’s new. This would give you a much better experience as the cars have improved much more since 2014. Charging isn’t stressful if you’ve got a charger at home that works. A few of the issues you faced are normal for your first week having the car. Natural to have a little learning curve but they’re quite quick to get used too.

Battery life is often over 250 k and up to 400k miles in some examples used as taxis. As long as the motor is quiet without excess whirring noise - it's fine. Test drive essential as service history cannot be acquired from Tesla.
