I watched a video from the rally after the shooting. I heard a young lady/girl screaming for her dad. Her father was the one shot in the head and killed. A lot of the audience nesr them was subdued. Except for the ones up near Trump and behind him. While an ER doctor was trying to bring him back, the other man who was shot was being helped and the lady who was shot in the arm was being carried out, Trump was fighting to make sure he got his picture taken. He was pushing above and to the side of his secret service as they were trying to protect him. He was fist pumping, waiving and shouting and those close by were cheering for him. He even tried to step up on the car to again waive at the cameras, and the secret service had to force him down and into the vehicle. Loud cheering going on as one man is dead and two are critically injured. The only thing Trump thought about was to get attention for himself. He had no concern for anyone else. How do you think those families felt? I bet almost anyone else would have had concern for others.

From an objective pov I side with James.
From a subjective pov, I think it was just another showcase of his narcissm and obssession over his image. He put secret service officers and himself at greater risk for the sake of a photo op.

Odd I found his defiant response showed who he was . He displayed zero interest in letting his body guards do their job thus endangering them he virtually punched one female bodyguard attempting to get him off stage. He was more interested in his 5 minutes of fame than concern for those shot in audience this displaying his sense of superiority over others.
His response was classic fight or flight he chose fight unfortunate for those attempting to save his life.
