Since Cal recommend to delete Social Media Apps, I have done it. And it was the best decision of my life. When I feel boring or do not have anything to do, I read book. My mind is really clear now, my ability to focus is at least doubled and it translated to my working results. I feel so free, calm now. And I even feel that I have much more time in a day than before. Thank you Cal!

Agree with these strategies to watch less before bed. The problem might be that I am often alone and dont have a friend to talk to, especially close English speaking friends :), I miss everything about long discussions about anything from music, flowers, books to mountains, watching sunrise and sunset together, sharing favorite foods etc. Then, of course, going to the internet to avoid boredom 😂

the streaming services do want you to binge too though. maybe not as badly as youtube, but that is still a KPI for them I think. Programming Youtuber Primeagen talks sometimes about how he would be involved in running A/B tests when he worked at netflix and pick which features to put based on user behavior (such as autoplay previews), the behavior they are measuring must be time spent I think, or at least that's one metric. And netflix CEO says how he views Netflix as in competition with all other ways to spend your time. But you are right, time spent isn't their core business model like youtube, perceived value is, so maybe they prioritize other kpis as well hopefully

So what do you do instead of reading and watching stuff on your phone? It really helps me relax. Need some ideas. Books could be one substitute, but some days I find myself too scattered to concentrate on reading a book just before bed

With regard to sleep, also consider you may have sleep apnea.

Seriously just listen to "simple" audiobooks like for children that you already know. I fall asleep to Harry potter or Lord of the rings for YEARS. literally the same audiobooks so the brain is slightly distracted but also not engaged and eager to hear what's next (slightly bored)

Guys deeper problems won't be solver just by trying to be more productive. I don't have a wife/gf and I'm ugly and short. That ruins my motivation and won't be solved by life hacks. I'm screwed.
